Experimental Dance Films abound at the Spring 2024 New Jersey Film Festival on Saturday, February 3

An amazing line-up of experimental dance films will be screening as part of Shorts Program #2 of the Spring 2024 New Jersey Film Festival. With this year's collection of films spanning different countries and cultures, I noticed that “dance” was an overarching theme or common thread in many of the films being screened as part of the Festival.




 

Count Basie Center for the Arts presents Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue

(RED BANK, NJ) -- Count Basie Center for the Arts presents trombonist, composer and bandleader, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at 7:00pm. The night includes special guests, The Soul Rebels.



NJCU and WP programs present "Working, a Musical"

(JERSEY CITY NJ) -- The New Jersey City University Department of Music, Dance and Theatre and WP Voice presents Working, a Musical with five performances from February 2-11, 2024 at Margaret Williams Theatre. Based on Studs Terkel's best-selling book of interviews, Working: People Talk About What They Do All Day, the Musical Working paints a vivid portrait of the workers that the world so often takes for granted: the schoolteacher, the delivery man, the waitress, the mason, and the stay-at-home parent, just to name a few.



Lizzie Rose Music Room presents Selwyn Birchwood

(TUCKERTON, NJ) -- Award-winning Florida bluesman Selwyn Birchwood will perform live at the Lizzie Rose Music Room in Tuckerton on Friday, March 8, 2024. Birchwood is touring in support of Exorcist, his fourth release on Alligator Records. Showtime is 7:30pm.
