Since its first performance in 1980, the Mark Morris Dance Group has received “highest praise for their technical aplomb, their musicality, and their sheer human authenticity” (Bloomberg News). With a repertory that ranges from 17th and 18th century works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Henry Purcell to more recent scores by Ethan Iverson, Lou Harrison, and Henry Cowell, the Mark Morris Dance Group has toured with its own music ensemble since 1996. The company returns to the McCarter Theatre with a selection of innovative works than span the decades.
