New Jersey Youth Chorus Selected for ACDA Eastern Division Conference

(NEW PROVIDENCE) -- The New Jersey Youth Chorus (NJYC), a program of Wharton Arts, is thrilled to announce that Coriste, NJYC's high school women's ensemble, has been selected to perform at the American Choral Directors Association's (ACDA) Eastern Division Conference. The Conference will take place February 25–28, 2026, in Providence, RI.



 

Newark to Host Annual Latin Festival on August 17th

Raise a Glass for A Great Cause: Wine on the Waterfront 2025 to take place Saturday at Washington Crossing Historic Park

(WASHINGTON CROSSING, PA) -- The Friends of Washington Crossing Park will be hosting Wine on the Waterfront this Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 1112 River Road in Washington Crossing, PA. The event is back in its eighth year, taking place on the scenic banks of the Delaware River from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. American Theater Group Seeks Video Auditions from NJ Drama Teachers for production of "Our Town"

(UNION, NJ) -- American Theater Group (ATG) is seeking video audition submissions from NJ drama and music teachers (and related staff) for its upcoming production of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Our Town by Thornton Wilder. A photograph of a house tells us something important about the photographer. She's not inside it. A painter, a sculptor, or a printmaker can work from memory. She can sketch a building from the street, unlock the door, and render a picture of the exterior from a studio on the interior. The photographer doesn't have that flexibility. For her, creation of a work of art implies separation from her subject. Maybe that's why photographers always feel like outsiders.

State Arts Council Approves Over $29 Million in Grants, Welcomes New Board Member

(TRENTON, NJ) -- The New Jersey State Council on the Arts awarded more than $29 million in grants to support nearly 1,000 arts organizations, projects, and artists throughout the state. The grants were approved on July 22, 2025 at the Council's 59th Annual Meeting in Trenton, which featured a special performance by Hadassah Broughton, the 2025 NJ Poetry Out Loud State Champion.

NJPAC presents a Spring Season of Jazz

(NEWARK, NJ) -- New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presents a Spring Season of Jazz with free monthly jazz jams at Clement's Place and two special concert events inside the Victoria Theater. This series, running from September through June, is co-presented by NJPAC's Jazz Advisory Committee and Rutgers University–Newark's Institute of Jazz Studies (IJS). Immerse yourself in the relaxing sounds of jazz music that stimulate the players’ and listeners' minds.

PBS' Independent Lens Launches 20th Season of Free Pop-Up Screening Series in Teaneck and Nationwide

(TEANECK, NJ) -- The award-winning PBS documentary series, INDEPENDENT LENS, presents the launch of the upcoming season of Indie Lens Pop-Up in partnership with the Teaneck International Film Festival and the Puffin Cultural Forum. The season kicks-off on February 4, 2026 with The Librarians and continues through May. The series is free for all but sign up is required.
