Roxey Ballet to Hold Auditions for 30th Anniversary production of "Nutcracker"

(EWING, NJ) -- Roxey Ballet is thrilled to celebrate a milestone 30th Anniversary Season of its beloved Holiday Classic, The Nutcracker, promising an unforgettable journey of dance, tradition, and community spirit. Under the expert creative leadership of Founder & Artistic Director Mark Roxey, and co-led by Melissa Roxey, Director of The Mill Ballet School and Curriculum Supervisor for Roxey Ballet, this year's production brings an extra dose of enchantment and heart.

Lizzie Rose Music Room presents Katie Henry on Friday

(TUCKERTON, NJ) -- The Lizzie Rose Music Room presents Katie Henry on Friday, August 29, 2025. Doors open at 7:00pm, showtime is 7:30pm. The New Jersey singer-songwriter might have started out banging on doors, braving New York's blues clubs, playing piano until her fingers bled, and winning over the city one show at a time. But lately, the multi-instrumentalist has raced through career milestones at a rocket pace.

Pollak Gallery presents "Into the Wild" Art Exhibit by Eileen Kennedy

(WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- Monmouth University's Pollak Gallery presents "Into the Wild" Art Exhibit by Eileen Kennedy from September 1 through October 25, 2005. Kennedy's narrative art explores the relationship between contemporary humans and the natural world. The exhibit is free and open to the public.



Bergen County Players to Open Season with "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical"

(ORADELL, NJ) -- Bergen County Players (BCP), one of America's longest-running little theater companies, will launch its 93rd season with the area premiere of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. This Tony and Grammy Award-winning musical phenomenon, based on the inspiring true story of the artist's remarkable journey from young songwriter to superstar solo artist, will run at the Little Firehouse Theatre in Oradell from September 13 through October 11, 2025.



Jersey City Latin Jazz Festival takes place September 5-6

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Riverview Jazz, the Jersey City-based non-profit, has announced the lineup for the 2nd annual Jersey City Latin Jazz Festival (September 5-6, 2025). The event will feature 10 bands including tributes to Eddie Palmieri and John "Dandy" Rodriguez that include many past members of their groups.



Arthouse Film Festival returns for 35th year

(CHATHAM, NJ) -- Featuring some of the best soon-to-be-released movies from around the world, Arthouse Film Festival will unspool for ten weeks beginning September 15, 2025 at Chatham Hickory Cinema. The selected films comprise award winners from Sundance, Cannes, Toronto, Telluride, Venice and SXSW film festivals, along with prestige studio films, screened in Chatham before their New York theatrical release dates.

MPAC Announces Free Summer Concert Lineup for 2026

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center's Arts in the Community free summer concert schedule for 2026 has been announced. MPAC will present six free concerts between June and August. The lineup includes the return of three of their most popular events – Bollywood Dance Party, Country Line Dancing and Salsa at Sunset, as well as singer-songwriters, and more.



Classic

Classic American Tales' presents Tales at the Dormer House every Thursday

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From June 4 through October 15, 2026 (except for July 2), Classic American Tales (CAT) once more presents Tales at the Dormer House in which guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories written by noteworthy authors, read by a variety of performers. The schedule is 4:00pm every Thursday at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast (800 Columbia Avenue) in Cape May, NJ. Performances are on the front porch, weather permitting.

East Lynne Theater Company presents "Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters' First 100 Years" by Emily Mann

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- The reimagined East Lynne Theater Company opens its Season Forty-Six with the extraordinary, real-life story Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters' First 100 Years by Emily Mann, running June 18 to July 19, 2026 at the Clemans Theater for the Arts at the Allen AME in Cape May.

Princeton Summer Theater presents "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown"

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Princeton Summer Theater's 2026 Children's Show is You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, which runs weekends from June 20 to August 1, 2026. A beloved musical since its premiere in 1967, Clark Gesner brings Charles M. Schulz's "PEANUTS" characters to the stage. The musical ventures through the highs and lows of young life, from baseball and homework to young love and friendship. With an empathetic and whimsical eye, You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown reminds us of the importance of connection and joy.

2026-27 Season Preview: Split Level Concerts at Jersey Shore Arts Center

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Split Level Concerts at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) in Ocean Grove has announced the full concert lineup for its third season. All shows will take place beginning at 8:00pm in JSAC's Palaia Theater. The season lineup includes Willie Nile, John Gorka, Dan Bern, Catie Curtis and Band, Stephen Kellogg, Abbie Gardner, Heather Maloney and Band, and Kim Richey. As they have done in prior years, artists from the Asbury Park music scene will open many of the shows.

The sky is rarely glowering, but it does seem full; ready to have something to say, or wrapping up something that it is busy saying.
