New Jersey Governor's Awards in Arts Education Concludes 45th Anniversary Season With Renewed NJDOE Partnership and Statewide Awards Tour

(BURLINGTON, NJ) -- The 45th anniversary season of the New Jersey Governor’s Awards in Arts Education (NJGAAE) concluded in June following a year of statewide celebrations. The 2025 season marked a new phase for the program, distinguished by a re-energized co-chair collaboration with Arts Ed NJ and the New Jersey Department of Education, and the successful implementation of an innovative recognition process. This process recognized students and educators at visual and performing arts events across the state, thereby fulfilling its mission to enhance arts education visibility and accessibility.



Theater League of Clifton to hold auditions for "The Addams Family Musical"

(WAYNE, NJ) -- The Theater League of Clifton will hold auditions for its next theater production, The Addams Family Musical, on Tuesday, September 9 from 6:30pm – 9:00pm and Thursday, September 11 from 6:30pm – 9:00pm. Callbacks (by Invitation only) will take place Monday, September 15 from 6:30pm – 9:00pm. Each takes place at Wayne Community Center (1 Pike Drive) in Wayne, NJ.

(GALLOWAY, NJ) -- Murphy Writing of Stockton University will host the 32nd annual Winter Poetry & Prose Getaway at Seaview Hotel from January 16-19, 2026. The weekend event is one of the oldest and largest writers' conferences in the winter season. Beginning and experienced writers will receive craft discussion, writing prompts, writing time, feedback, motivation and inspiration.

Summer tours don’t get much more scene-defining than this one: Taking Back Sunday and Coheed and Cambria joined forces for a co-headlining run that gave fans a double dose of early 2000s emo/post-hardcore power, supported by Foxing setting the tone as a special guest opener. The tour came to the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel on August 29, 2025.



Dragonfly Multicultural Arts Center presents "Fade" by Tanya Saracho

(PLAINFIELD, NJ) -- Dragonfly Multicultural Arts Center continues its 2025 season with Fade, a powerful and witty play by acclaimed playwright Tanya Saracho, from September 12-14, 2025 at the duCret Center of Art. Held in STNJ's intimate Studio space, limited to just 80 attendees, The Sound Studio Series features a dynamic mix of both classical and rock performances. Each concert concludes with an exclusive post-show meet-and-greet with the artists, offering fans a rare opportunity to connect directly with the performers. Tickets for the series are $20-$30.

Arden Children's Theatre presents "The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales"

(PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- This spring, Arden Children's Theatre invites families into a hilariously twisted world where classic fairy tales don't go quite as expected in its next production of the 2025/26 season, The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales (The Stinky Cheese Man). Based on the beloved book by Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith, adapted by John Glore, the production brings the book's fractured fairy tales to life for kids and adults alike. Directed by Steve Pacek, the production runs on the Arden’s Arcadia stage with previews starting April 8, opening night on April 18, with performances running through May 31.

Haddon Township to Hold 4th Annual String Band Parade

(HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ) -- The Camden County Board of Commissioners, along with Haddon Township, invites residents and visitors to the fourth annual String Band Parade down Haddon Ave, featuring the Philadelphia Mummers String Bands on Saturday, May 30, 2026 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. (note: it was rescheduled from April 25th due to the weather)

Hitchcock Meets Hilarious: Bergen County Players presents "The 39 Steps"

(ORADELL, NJ) -- Fresh off being named the top live music or theater venue by 201 Magazine's "Best of Bergen" readers, Bergen County Players (BCP) invites audiences to brace themselves for a whirlwind of espionage and outrageous comedy with the Tony Award-winning The 39 Steps, which runs weekends from May 2-31, 2026. Directed by BCP life member Steve Bell, this breakneck adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock's 1935 film classic blends film noir suspense with Monty Python-style absurdity.

McCarter Theatre Center presents "Mrs. Christie" - a new comedy-mystery by Heidi Armbruster

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- McCarter Theatre Center presents Mrs. Christie, a witty new comedy-mystery by Heidi Armbruster, from May 6–31, 2026. The production is directed by BOLD Associate Artistic Director Donya K. Washington in her McCarter directorial debut.
