Fireside Chat with Ms. Tina Knowles Lawson filmed at Newark Symphony Hall to air on Newark TV

(NEWARK, NJ) -- Newark Symphony Hall (NSH), New Jersey's largest Black-led arts and entertainment venue, announced the exclusive fireside chat with Tina Knowles Lawson it hosted last fall is broadcasting on NWK-TV, as well as streaming on NSH's Facebook and YouTube pages, on February 28 at 9:00pm. Lawson, famed designer, philanthropist and co-founder of WACO Theater Center, talks with Mikki Taylor, Essence magazine’s editor-at-large, Newark native and author, about the challenges and opportunities for Black women in the arts.



Montclair Art Museum and the African American Cultural Committee Announce the Ben F. Jones Scholarship Fund

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Montclair Art Museum (MAM) and the African American Cultural Committee (AACC) at MAM have announced the Ben F. Jones Scholarship Fund in honor of AACC Co-Founder Ben F. Jones, international artist, and art professor.



Brook Arts Center to present "Clue, on Stage" and "Guys and Dolls"

(BOUND BROOK, NJ) -- Brook Arts Center has announced two plays on their Spring schedule.  They will present Clue, on Stage from March 18-29 and Guys and Dolls from April 22 to May 1st. 



NJPAC presents Rodrigo y Gabriela

(NEWARK, NJ) -- Rodrigo y Gabriela, the metal-loving duo from Mexico City inspired by both flamenco and hard rock will perform live at New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) on Friday, April 15, 2022 at 8:00pm. Rodrigo y Gabriela, GRAMMY® Award-winning musicians and the guitarists, known for their lively and passionate performances will entertain audiences with their unique sound pulling inspiration from rock, heavy metal, and nuevo flamenco. 








SOPAC's Blues In The Loft Presents performances by King Solomon Hicks and Alex Tea

(SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) -- Get your groove on during Blues in the Loft, a South Orange Performing Arts Center concert series curated and hosted by Mike Griot. On Sunday nights, hear world-class artists from the region in the cabaret-style setting of the SOPAC Loft. The 2022 Blues in the Loft series is dedicated to Lee Boswell-May, longtime curator of the program.  Upcoming shows include performances by King Solomon Hicks and Alex Tea. Tickets are $20. All shows begin at 7:00pm.



Studio Cast Recording of "Witness Uganda (An American Musical)" Has Been Released By Sony Masterworks Broadway

(NEW YORK, NY) -- Sony Masterworks Broadway has released the Studio Cast Recording of Witness Uganda (An American Musical), an album of music from the powerful musical envisioned by the creative duo of Matt Gouldand Griffin Matthews. Available everywhere now, the album features 24 songs from the show, as performed by Matthews and a star-studded cast including multihyphenate superstar Cynthia Erivo, GRAMMY-winning recording artist Ledisi, and stage-and-screen stars Nicolette Robinson, Emma Hunton and Kristolyn Lloyd, among others. 



REPLENISH announces record-breaking year of food distribution in Middlesex County

(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ) -- REPLENISH, formerly Middlesex County Food Organization and Outreach Distribution Services (MCFOODS), has reported that it received and distributed a record-breaking amount of food to Middlesex County residents in need in 2021 according to the program’s yearly report. In total, the program which is operated by the Middlesex County Department of Community Services with support of the Board of County Commissioners distributed a total of 4,730,058 pounds of food including fresh produce, dairy, and meat products to over 150 partners, eclipsing its previous year’s record of 4,378,792 pounds of food by more than 350,000 pounds.



Brookdale Community College to Have Contingent In Local St. Patrick's Day Parades

(LINCROFT, NJ) -- Brookdale Community College has announced that a contingent will be marching in local St. Patrick’s Day Parades this year across Monmouth County.  This year, look for the Brookdale team at the Asbury Park, Freehold, and Keansburg events promoting Tuition-Free Brookdale.



Collective Soul to Open NJ Festival of Ballooning

(READINGTON, NJ)  --- They’re going to put a shine on the largest summertime hot air balloon and music festival in North America. Multi-platinum-selling rock band Collective Soul will perform Friday, July 29 at 8:00pm in association with WDHA 105.5 to open the live concert series at the 39th annual New Jersey Lottery Festival of Ballooning at Solberg Airport in Readington, NJ.

MPAC Announces Free Summer Concert Lineup for 2026

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center's Arts in the Community free summer concert schedule for 2026 has been announced. MPAC will present six free concerts between June and August. The lineup includes the return of three of their most popular events – Bollywood Dance Party, Country Line Dancing and Salsa at Sunset, as well as singer-songwriters, and more.

Classic American Tales' presents Tales at the Dormer House every Thursday

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From June 4 through October 15, 2026 (except for July 2), Classic American Tales (CAT) once more presents Tales at the Dormer House in which guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories written by noteworthy authors, read by a variety of performers. The schedule is 4:00pm every Thursday at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast (800 Columbia Avenue) in Cape May, NJ. Performances are on the front porch, weather permitting.

2026-27 Season Preview: Split Level Concerts at Jersey Shore Arts Center

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Split Level Concerts at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) in Ocean Grove has announced the full concert lineup for its third season. All shows will take place beginning at 8:00pm in JSAC's Palaia Theater. The season lineup includes Willie Nile, John Gorka, Dan Bern, Catie Curtis and Band, Stephen Kellogg, Abbie Gardner, Heather Maloney and Band, and Kim Richey. As they have done in prior years, artists from the Asbury Park music scene will open many of the shows.
