Incoming Students Get an Early Start to College Experience at Ramapo College EOF Summer Studies Institute

(MAHWAH, NJ) -- For the first time since 2019, students gathered in person on the Ramapo College campus for the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Summer Studies Institute. The Institute is a five-week program where highly motivated incoming first-year students who exhibit the potential for success, and who come from families/communities disadvantaged by low income and/or a lack of access to quality educational preparation necessary to attend college, receive an immersive introduction to the college experience.



Monmouth County Commissioners invite families of 9/11 victims to participate in memorial ceremony

(FREEHOLD, NJ) -- The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners is inviting families of Monmouth County 9/11 victims to participate in the Monmouth County September 11 Memorial Ceremony, which will be held at Mount Mitchill Scenic Overlook at 460 Ocean Boulevard, Atlantic Highlands, NJ on Sunday, Septemer 11 at 9:00am.



Comedy Benefit Show for The Showroom on September 13th

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Ugly Pancake Productions hosts a Benefit Comedy Show for The Showroom in Asbury Park on Tuesday September 13, 2022 at 7:30pm. The benefit is to help them defray some of the unanticipated operating costs they have encountered since reopening. The lineup includes local comics: Taylor Allen, Vin Brue, Alex Delesky, Donna Lloyd with hosts Joey Borzotta and Angelo Gingerelli.

(MANAHAWKIN, NJ) -- Following a three year “pandemic pause,” Bellarine Theatre Company is presenting Disney's The Little Mermaid with four performances from August 12-14 at the Stafford Township Arts Center. Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved stories and the classic animated film, this is a hauntingly beautiful love story for the ages. "First of all, I just thought, I want to make a rock 'n' roll record; my kind of rock 'n' roll. I like rock'n'roll, I mean, I like all sorts of stuff but rock 'n' roll is basically what I wanted to do. I wanted to make a rock 'n' roll record like The Rolling Stones or Little Richard so, I just started putting songs together in 2017 and just started writing songs," says guitarist Curtis Salgado ahead of his two area shows and whose new album, "Damage Control" is out courtesy of Alligator Records. 



Princeton University Art Museum Appoints Carolyn M. Laferrière as Assistant Curator of Ancient Mediterranean Art

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Princeton University Art Museum has named Carolyn M. Laferrière as assistant curator of ancient Mediterranean art. Laferrière joins Princeton from the Center for the Premodern World and the Department of Classics at the University of Southern California, where she served as a postdoctoral scholar and teaching fellow. She began her appointment at Princeton on August 1.



McLoone's Supper Club presents An Evening With Chris Pinnella

MPAC Announces Free Summer Concert Lineup for 2026

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center's Arts in the Community free summer concert schedule for 2026 has been announced. MPAC will present six free concerts between June and August. The lineup includes the return of three of their most popular events – Bollywood Dance Party, Country Line Dancing and Salsa at Sunset, as well as singer-songwriters, and more.

Classic American Tales' presents Tales at the Dormer House every Thursday

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From June 4 through October 15, 2026 (except for July 2), Classic American Tales (CAT) once more presents Tales at the Dormer House in which guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories written by noteworthy authors, read by a variety of performers. The schedule is 4:00pm every Thursday at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast (800 Columbia Avenue) in Cape May, NJ. Performances are on the front porch, weather permitting.

2026-27 Season Preview: Split Level Concerts at Jersey Shore Arts Center

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Split Level Concerts at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) in Ocean Grove has announced the full concert lineup for its third season. All shows will take place beginning at 8:00pm in JSAC's Palaia Theater. The season lineup includes Willie Nile, John Gorka, Dan Bern, Catie Curtis and Band, Stephen Kellogg, Abbie Gardner, Heather Maloney and Band, and Kim Richey. As they have done in prior years, artists from the Asbury Park music scene will open many of the shows.

So, we thought it would be a good thing to celebrate that anniversary and do a "My Whitesnake Years" tour and when we were done, people from all over the world began asking if we'd be willing to do a run here or there and we went to Scandinavia, Spain and there is actually more stuff in the pipeline for next year also and of course now to the United States and it has been a lot of fun so far."
