Sons of Serendip Bring "Christmas: Beyond the Lights" to South Orange Performing Arts Center

Classical crossover ensemble Sons of Serendip broke onto the scene in 2014 after competing on America’s Got Talent, and they’ve been going strong ever since. They’re currently touring the country spreading their signature style of holiday cheer and will perform at South Orange Performing Arts Center Dec. 7.  



jaZams Presents Check To Princeton Public Library To Support Youth Programs

(PRINCETON, NJ) --  The owners of jaZams Book and Toy Store on Palmer Square recently visited Princeton Public Library to present library staff with a check for $8,829.97, representing a portion of the proceeds from book sales at the October 8 Princeton Children’s Book Festival. The money will support materials, programs and services for young people at the library.



Jazz at Clements Place: Lance Bryant's Big Band Swings Monthly on Mondays

After the pandemic subsided early this year, veteran tenor saxophonist Lance Bryant was trying to think of ways to create live performances resulting in gigs for many of the musicians who had lacked work during the shutdown. “I had been arranging for other bands for years,” he said. “In April of 2022, I started working on arrangements and various music I had, and I decided to create my own big band. I contacted many musicians I had worked with to see who might be available and who might be interested in working with me on the project. Once I had the musicians, I needed a venue to present the music.” 








The Hip Hop Nutcracker Celebrates Its 10th Season at NJPAC Featuring Spectacular Hip-hop Dancers and The Rap King of Christmas Kurtis Blow

The Hip Hop Nutcracker is celebrating its 10th season at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), with two stunning performances taking place Saturday, Dec. 17 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tchaikovsky’s 130-year-old ballet reimagined and remixed as a holiday dance spectacle features hip-hop pioneer Kurtis Blow, who performs as the master of ceremonies at the show’s opening, pumping up the crowd and motivating them with an audience calland-response. Highly regarded as one of hip-hop’s founding fathers, Blow is the first commercially successful rapper and the first to sign with a major record label in 1979. A cast of a dozen all-star dancers will display supercharged hip-hop choreography alongside an onstage DJ and an electric violinist who turns the beloved classical Nutcracker score on its head, according to the show’s organizers.

The Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music Presents A Symposium To Celebrate 50th Anniversary of "Greetings From Asbury Park, N.J"

(WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- The Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music at Monmouth University will present a symposium on Saturday, January 7, 2023 that celebrates the release of Springsteen’s debut album a half century ago. Titled The 50th Anniversary: Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J, the day-long symposium will include panel discussions, interviews, a book signing, and a special performance of the songs on the album by Jersey Shore musicians.
