Dragonfly Multicultural Arts presents "India Pale Ale" - a play about family, pirates, and beer

(PLAINFIELD, NJ) -- Dragonfly Multicultural Arts Center, a community theater in residence at duCret Center of Art, located at 1030 Central Ave, Plainfield, New Jersey, will present India Pale Ale, a drama about a Punjabi Indian family in Wisconsin. Directed by Priya Iyer, India Pale Ale will be presented on September 15th at 8:00pm, September 16th at 8:00pm, and September 17th at 3:00pm.

CDC Theatre to Open Season with "Head Over Heels"

(CRANFORD, NJ) -- CDC Theatre in Cranford will open their 105th season with Head Over Heels from October 13-28, 2023. This is the bold new musical comedy from the visionaries that rocked Broadway with Avenue Q and Spring Awakening. This laugh-out-loud love story is set to the music of the iconic 1980's all-female rock band The Go-Go's, including the hit songs, "We Got the Beat," "Our Lips Are Sealed," "Vacation," Belinda Carlisle's "Heaven is a Place on Earth" and "Mad About You."



Pianist Lafayette Harris, Jr., Embracing 'Everything' from Eubie Blake to Max Roach

In 1975 when Lafayette Harris, Jr., was 12 years old, growing up in Baltimore, he saw a television commercial advertising a "hometown hero who is coming back to Baltimore to play." Harris was just starting to learn to play the piano, and the "hometown hero" was Eubie Blake. "I had no idea who Eubie Blake was,” he recalled. "They showed him playing this piece, 'The Maple Leaf Rag'. I'd never heard of that, and I just had to learn how to play that music.








Reina Mar releases "Picante"

Latina singer-songwriter Reina Mar has released "Picante", just ahead of Hispanic Heritage Month. The song is inspired by her Cuban heritage and the music she loved hearing growing up in her Bergen County home.

MPAC Announces Free Summer Concert Lineup for 2026

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center's Arts in the Community free summer concert schedule for 2026 has been announced. MPAC will present six free concerts between June and August. The lineup includes the return of three of their most popular events – Bollywood Dance Party, Country Line Dancing and Salsa at Sunset, as well as singer-songwriters, and more.

Classic American Tales' presents Tales at the Dormer House every Thursday

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From June 4 through October 15, 2026 (except for July 2), Classic American Tales (CAT) once more presents Tales at the Dormer House in which guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories written by noteworthy authors, read by a variety of performers. The schedule is 4:00pm every Thursday at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast (800 Columbia Avenue) in Cape May, NJ. Performances are on the front porch, weather permitting.

2026-27 Season Preview: Split Level Concerts at Jersey Shore Arts Center

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Split Level Concerts at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) in Ocean Grove has announced the full concert lineup for its third season. All shows will take place beginning at 8:00pm in JSAC's Palaia Theater. The season lineup includes Willie Nile, John Gorka, Dan Bern, Catie Curtis and Band, Stephen Kellogg, Abbie Gardner, Heather Maloney and Band, and Kim Richey. As they have done in prior years, artists from the Asbury Park music scene will open many of the shows.
