The theme of this year's contest and Archives and History Day focuses on business and industry in Monmouth County.



"Sex Work/Sex Play" opens Off-Broadway

(NEW YORK,NY) -- The new comedy Sex Work/Sex Play, from award-winning playwright and filmmaker Caytha Jentis opened to a sold out house September 13 at 28th Street Theatre. The Off-Broadway World Premiere runs until October 29, 2023 and is directed by Rosie Gunther. Produced by Emerging Artists Theatre, the play had a staged reading at the company's Spark Theatre Festival NYC last fall.



NJ Rep Hosts Night Of Comedy

(LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- Comedian Aaron Kominos-Smith (Inside Amy Schumer, Live at Gotham) brings New York City stand-up comedy to Long Branch on Monday, October 16 at 7:00pm. Aaron will be hosting the show and is excited to bring his friends to NJ Rep for an evening of laughs! Joining him are comedians Erin Maguire and Jon Firch.








Lizzie Rose Music Room presents Kiss The Sky

(TUCKERTON, NJ) -- The Lizzie Rose Music Room presents Kiss The Sky, the World's Greatest Jimi Hendrix Tribute, on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 7:30pm. Kiss The Sky meticulously recreates Jimi Hendrix's most iconic concert moments in detail with replica wardrobe, gear and sound. On September 30th, they will pay homage to one of Hendrix's final shows at the Isle of Wight Festival - Cry Of Love Tour 1970.



"Diary of Times" a Solo Exhibition at the Riverside Gallery

(HACKENSACK, NJ) -- Riverside Gallery presents a solo exhibition titled, "Diary of Times," featuring the works of the artist Jay Chung, from October 3-18, 2023 with an opening reception on Saturday, October 3rd from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. In pursuit and exploration of harmony as a human possibiity Chung continues his vibrant and colorful body of abstract Epoxy Resin paintings, but he has also been developing a new body of work that he calls "Times Writing" and "Human Faces."

From Inside of Here, a documentary film by Bill Basquin is a truly personal and intimate documentary film which explores nature and the wild world through the filmmaker’s unique perspective. The film uses many aspects of cinematography, multiple media types and meaningful storytelling to show the fragile but interconnected world of an ecosystem, through both the filmmaker’s and audiences’s own eyes.



Film Ready Workshop Comes to South Jersey

MPAC Announces Free Summer Concert Lineup for 2026

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center's Arts in the Community free summer concert schedule for 2026 has been announced. MPAC will present six free concerts between June and August. The lineup includes the return of three of their most popular events – Bollywood Dance Party, Country Line Dancing and Salsa at Sunset, as well as singer-songwriters, and more.

Classic American Tales' presents Tales at the Dormer House every Thursday

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From June 4 through October 15, 2026 (except for July 2), Classic American Tales (CAT) once more presents Tales at the Dormer House in which guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories written by noteworthy authors, read by a variety of performers. The schedule is 4:00pm every Thursday at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast (800 Columbia Avenue) in Cape May, NJ. Performances are on the front porch, weather permitting.

2026-27 Season Preview: Split Level Concerts at Jersey Shore Arts Center

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Split Level Concerts at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) in Ocean Grove has announced the full concert lineup for its third season. All shows will take place beginning at 8:00pm in JSAC's Palaia Theater. The season lineup includes Willie Nile, John Gorka, Dan Bern, Catie Curtis and Band, Stephen Kellogg, Abbie Gardner, Heather Maloney and Band, and Kim Richey. As they have done in prior years, artists from the Asbury Park music scene will open many of the shows.
