2023 Montclair Film Festival Preview

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- The 2023 Montclair Film Festival takes place October 20-29 with screenings at venues across Montclair and at NJPAC in Newark. Here is a look at some of the most anticipated narrative, documentary, and music films.



"Jim Caruso's Cast Party" comes to Hackensack

(HACKENSACK, NJ) -- Hackensack Performing Arts Center will host the Hackensack debut of the wildly popular open mic night/variety show "Jim Caruso's Cast Party" on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 7:30pm. The evening will feature local performers and special surprise guests. Musical director Billy Stritch (Liza Minnelli, Tony Bennett) will hold court at the ivories, with Steve Doyle on bass.



Springsteen Archives Announces New Building at Monmouth University

(WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- On October 18, 2023, the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music at Monmouth University announced a new 30,000 square foot building to house the Archives, the Center for American Music, related exhibition galleries, and a 230 seat, state-of-the-art theater.

(NEWARK, NJ) -- New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) welcomes Passaic native, Tom Papa, on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 8:00pm. Tom Papa is one of the top comedic voices in the country, finding success as an author in film, TV, radio, and podcasts, as well as on the live stage.



Vince Herman Band to Play Roy's Hall

(BLAIRSTOWN, NJ) -- Vince Herman is out to have some fun. 33 years after founding Leftover Salmon, Vince released an album of his own and hit the road to play a batch of songs developed in his new Nashville home. It's a bit of a departure from the "Salmon sound" as he digs into his idea of what country music is. There’s some bluegrass and Cajun influences and honky tonk ballads all piled atop great players taking the tunes for a ride.



State Theatre presents The Head and The Heart

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents The Head And The Heart on Saturday, November 3, 2023 at 8:00pm. The acclaimed Seattle band's hit songs include "Rivers and Roads," "Virginia," "Honeybee," "Lost in My My Mind," and "Down in the Valley." Opening the show is Tennessee band, Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors. Tickets range from $40.50-$136.

Guys and dolls inside Toms River, NJ's Grunin Center for the Arts this Sunday, October 8, 2023 afternoon are ready to dig a "Swingin' the '60s" concert by the NYC metro-based jazz band, Swingadelic.



Two new Visual Art Exhibits at MPAC

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) presents two new visual art exhibits in its Art Upstairs and Starlight Galleries beginning October 17 and running through November 28, 2023. Morris County Art Association will exhibit in Art Upstairs; photographer Xiomaro will exhibit in the Starlight Galley.

MPAC Announces Free Summer Concert Lineup for 2026

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center's Arts in the Community free summer concert schedule for 2026 has been announced. MPAC will present six free concerts between June and August. The lineup includes the return of three of their most popular events – Bollywood Dance Party, Country Line Dancing and Salsa at Sunset, as well as singer-songwriters, and more.

Classic American Tales' presents Tales at the Dormer House every Thursday

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From June 4 through October 15, 2026 (except for July 2), Classic American Tales (CAT) once more presents Tales at the Dormer House in which guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories written by noteworthy authors, read by a variety of performers. The schedule is 4:00pm every Thursday at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast (800 Columbia Avenue) in Cape May, NJ. Performances are on the front porch, weather permitting.

2026-27 Season Preview: Split Level Concerts at Jersey Shore Arts Center

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Split Level Concerts at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) in Ocean Grove has announced the full concert lineup for its third season. All shows will take place beginning at 8:00pm in JSAC's Palaia Theater. The season lineup includes Willie Nile, John Gorka, Dan Bern, Catie Curtis and Band, Stephen Kellogg, Abbie Gardner, Heather Maloney and Band, and Kim Richey. As they have done in prior years, artists from the Asbury Park music scene will open many of the shows.

(BRADLEY BEACH, NJ) -- The Borough of Bradley Beach presents its Summer Jazz and Blues Series for 2026 throughout July and August. Residents and visitors are invited to enjoy a diverse lineup of world-class musical performances every Wednesday evening from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at beautiful Riley Park.
