(HOLMDEL, NJ) -- The Artist Collective Troupe presents Almost Maine from November 21-23, 2025 at The Villas of Holmdel. The play takes place in a town so far north, it's almost not in the United States. It's almost in Canada. And it's not quite a town, because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it almost doesn't exist.
As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, the residents of Almost, Maine, find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways through nine vignettes in this romantic comedy.
Tickets are available for purchase online. The Villas is located at 200 Commons Way in Holmdel, New Jersey.
The Artist Collective Troupe will be running a food drive for the food pantry at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church as part of our production of "Almost, Maine." If you would like to participate, please bring a non-perishable food item to the show. For each item you bring, you will be entered to win a prize which will be drawn at intermission.
Almost Maine was written by John Cariani. Other works by the playwright include Love/Sick; cul-de-sac; and Last Gas.
The Creative Team for the production includes: Director - Eric Pertgen; Assistant Director - Chelsea Carlson; Stage Manager - Dee Martinez; and Assistant Stage Manager - Chris Morano.
The Artist Collective Troupe is a nonprofit theater company created to serve the community through theatrical and music performances, artistic events, education opportunities, workshops, and more.
Founded in 2021, ACT's goal is to provide educational, collaborative, and creative opportunities for artists and performers of all ages throughout the greater Ocean and Monmouth County area while putting on high-quality productions the whole community can enjoy. Past performances have included productions of "Mary Poppins," "Elf: The Musical," "Godspell Jr.," "Into the Woods," and more, ACT's annual musical revue, "Wish Upon a Song," holiday caroling with the Collective Carolers, a children's summer musical theater program, and more.
ACT further strives to serve the community by partnering with other local nonprofits and worthy causes to make a difference by fundraising and spreading awareness at all of their performances. Charities we have worked with before include Make-A-Wish New Jersey, the Ashley Lauren Foundation, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Rescue Ridge, and more.
