(HADDONFIELD, NJ) -- Stage Players (ages 13-17) at Haddonfield Plays and Players presents Alice By Heart from May 14-16, 2026 at Haddonfield Methodist Church. From the Tony® and Grammy® award-winning creators of Spring Awakening, Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik, and co-written by Jessie Nelson (Waitress), Alice by Heart is a touching musical inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
In the rubble of the London Blitz of World War II, Alice Spencer's budding teen life is turned upside down, and she and her dear friend Alfred are forced to take shelter in an underground tube station. When the ailing Alfred is quarantined, Alice encourages him to escape with her into their cherished book and journey down the rabbit hole to Wonderland.
As they travel through the tale, Alice by Heart explores the poignancy of first love, loss, and finding the courage to move forward. The musical encourages us all to celebrate the transformational power of the imagination, even in the harshest of times.
The cast includes Zero Chase Harding, Jadon Matteo, Emersyn Rath, Charlie Jewell, Anneliese Cardillo, Nicholas Snyder, Lizzy Holland, Nora Rondeau, Sunny Albizu, Jake Chester, Charley Benedict, Maggie Chester, Emma Cochran, Cora Gollihur, Austin Kerr, Aiden Myers, Annelyse Heckert, and Leo Miller.
Performances take place Thursday, May 14 at 7:00pm; Friday, May 15 at 7:00pm; and Saturday, May 16 at 1:30pm & 7:00pm. Tickets are available for purchase online. The Haddonfield United Methodist Church is located at 29 Warwick Road in Haddonfield, New Jersey.
STAGE PLAYERS is a program specifically designed to give teenagers an opportunity to participate in full-length musical theater productions. This program will encourage students to go beyond their fundamental theatrical skills and work with a Director, Choreographer, and Vocal Director to rehearse and develop a show that is challenging and more appropriate for an older age group. This program is designed to give teenagers another outlet for musical theatre in addition to their high school and provide teenagers with instruction to sharpen their creative skill set and prepare them for auditions at the collegiate and professional level.
