Chestnut Grove to Perform at WXPN's Xponential Music Festival

originally published: 09/01/2022

(PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- Rock n Roll outfit, Chestnut Grove will hit the road this fall for dates taking them throughout their home state of Pennsylvania, upstate New York, Virginia and to Camden, NJ for WXPN’s Xponential Music Festival on September 18th. Their newest single, “All For You” out now and from their forthcoming EP, Can’t Stand The Music, due in early 2023.

On August 26, the band performed a “revved-up” Free at Noon set for an energetic audience who danced, sang along and got a preview of the new EP.

“We had a blast playing Free at Noon and cannot wait to take the stage at Xponential Fest,” says drummer/singer/songwriter James Daniel. “We grew up listening to WXPN and being part of both of these events is both exciting and an honor.”

Of their Free at Noon performance, WXPN raved, “Perkiomenville rockers Chestnut Grove have found their experimental stride.”

Chestnut Grove’s 2021 release, The Album was produced by Derek Chafin (AKA “Chestnut Grove’s sixth man”) and features singles “Golden Age,” “Ain't Got Nobody,” “Newspaper Hats,” and fan favorite “I Know Somebody.” They celebrated the album’s release with a sold-out show at Ardmore Music Hall (virtually streamed via Nugs.net), followed by appearances on Radio 104.5 and 88.5 XPN’s Key Sessions.

“If people can relate, jam out to it and it reaches the people who need it, then mission accomplished for me,” says guitarist/pianist/singer/songwriter, Dee Gerhart. “Bands still exist. The idea of getting your friends who have instruments together and making noise, isn’t dead. It is possible to stick through good and hard times, and still love what you do and who you do it with. I hope that our music will inspire more people to create and relate. Music is the universal communicator. It's healing and for everyone.”
