Bordentown Thespians present the musical comedy "Twelfth Night"

The cast of Twelfth Night

(BORDENTOWN, NJ) -- The musical Twelfth Night, based on William Shakespeare's play and with music and lyrics by Shaina Taub, will be performed by the award-winning theatre students of Bordentown Regional High School on February 20-21, 2026 at the Bordentown Performing Arts Center. This is a rousing contemporary musical adaptation of Shakespeare's classic romantic comedy about mistaken identity and self-discovery.

This is the story of Viola, a young heroine who washes up on the shores of Illyria, disguises herself as a man, is sent to court a countess and falls hard for a Duke. As she navigates this strange and wonderful new land, she finds her true self and true love in the process.

Featuring an original jazz-funk score by two-time Tony Award winner Shaina Taub, this musical version of Twelfth Night was named one of the best theatrical productions of 2018 by Time, The Hollywood Reporter and The Washington Post, and is appropriate for all audiences. The performance runs 90 minutes with no intermission.

The Bordentown Regional High School cast stars students Rylie Evans as Viola, Emmary McLaughlin as Olivia, Adam Pollard as Orsino, Brynn Bowyer as Sir Toby, Atlas Planas-Borgstrom as Sebastian, Sika Brenya as Maria, River Skalski as Malvolio,  Alex Martucci as Sir Andrew, Andre McLaughlin as Antonio, Kade Sutton as Fabian, and Gabriella Cuccia as Feste. Alicia Kitner, Leah Eisele, Emilie Kelly, Peyton Todaro, Ansley Magby, Ari Rios, Ella James and Juliet Kraus are featured Illyrians. Wren Magby and Nora Chestnut are part of the Horn Trio, and Rylan Phillips and Ben Sexton are the Officers. The Twelfth Night Illyrian ensemble includes Persephone Borsuk, Evelyn DeIeso, Aron Erdos, Brecklyn Giangrasso, Hansikia Gokavarapu, Rocco Gutin, Rhylan James, Brooke Jeffery, Madelyn Jones, Julianna Kelly, Jack McCarney, Anthony Nami, Oliver Sano, and Leo Silverman. The pit orchestra for Twelfth Night includes BRHS students Finn Conroy, Cara Gallagher, Danger Stevenson,  Samantha Karolkiewicz, Adrian Sucuzhanay, Aiden Rich and Ceilidh Manigrasso.

Performances take place Friday, February 20 at 7:30pm and Saturday, February 21 at 2:00pm & 7:30pm.Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students, and can be purchased in advance at www.seatyourself.biz/brhs. Tickets will also be sold at the door, cash only. The Bordentown Performing Arts Center is attached to Bordentown Regional High School, and is located at 318 Ward Avenue in Bordentown, NJ.

Bordentown Regional High School's theatre program was awarded the prestigious Greater Philadelphia Cappie Award for Outstanding Musical in 2012 for Legally Blonde and was nominated for Outstanding Musical for their 2023 production of The Addams Family. For more than a decade, the Greater Philadelphia Cappie Awards have honored BRHS Theatre performances with seventy-nine nominations and nineteen awards. The theatrical performances of BRHS have also been honored with numerous awards and nominations from the New Jersey State Thespian Festival and the New Jersey Theatre Night Awards. Bordentown Regional High School is home to International Thespian Society Troupe 6803.
