(RIVERSIDE, NJ) -- Masquerade Theatre presents American Son by Christopher Demos-Brown across two weekends from February 6-14, 2026. An estranged bi-racial couple must confront their feelings about race and bias after their son is detained by the local police following a traffic stop incident. Their disparate histories and backgrounds inform their assumptions as they try to find out what happened to their son.
The production is directed by Connor Twigg; assistant directed by Kim Clayborn.
The cast includes Tommy Balne (Scott Connor), Carla Cornick (Kendra Ellis-Connor), Richard Kingston (Lieutenant John Stokes), and William Reid (Officer Paul Larkin).
Performances take place Friday, February 6 at 8:00pm; Saturday, February 7 at 8:00pm; Sunday, February 8 at 2:00pm; Thursday, February 12 at 7:30pm; Friday, February 13 at 8:00pm; Saturday, February 14 at 2:00pm; and Saturday, February 14 at 8:00pm. Tickets are available for purchase online. Performances take place in the Riverside Studio space (301 West Washington Street #100) in Riverside, New Jersey.
