Graham Parker To Perform At Lizzie Rose
Music Room On May 17

Graham Parker To Perform At Lizzie Rose Music Room On May 17(TUCKERTON, NJ) -- For nearly 30 years, Graham Parker has been slinging a signature sound across continents and airwaves, which has rightly earned him a spot in the pantheon of truly original and influential figures in rock 'n' roll. On Thursday, May 17th at 7:30pm, you have the rare opportunity to see Graham up close and in an intimate listening room when he comes to the Lizzie Rose Music Room in Tuckerton.

Graham Parker emerged from England's vibrant mid-70s pub rock music scene, and was promptly tagged the quintessential angry young man.  His musical style informed the likes of Elvis Costello and Joe Jackson, as well as earning raves from rock critics worldwide.  His recordings with The Rumour are legendary, earning two spots in Rolling Stone's "Top 100 Albums of All Time."

Since his early days with The Rumour, Parker has coupled punk's energy with his deeply rooted love of American R&B, country, and soul music.  He's got a snotty barroom brawler's rasp and sneer, a soul man's swagger, and an ear for indelible hooks and pop songcraft.  Not to mention an enduring spot in rock history.

Graham Parker and the Rumour returned with a new album, Mystery Glue, in 2015. Written in Parker's second home of New York and recorded in just six days in the legendary RAK studios in London, Mystery Glue was a true return to form for this seminal British songwriter and powerhouse band, which featured its original lineup of Parker, Bob Andrews, Brinsley Schwarz, Martin Belmont, Andrew Bodnar and Stephen Goulding.

Tickets for Graham Parker are $40 in advance and $45 at the door.

“As a schooled pianist and seeing so much since the age of three when I started formal lessons, I have always thought that when someone has a setback with Autism or something similar, that somewhere they are rewarded with a special talent that I’ll never have,” said Stormin’ Norman Seldin, a Jersey Shore musical legend.
