(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- White Eagle Hall and Don Giovanni Records will present a fundraiser livestream concert on May 5th for Jersey City Rapid Maker Response Group, featuring Chris Gethard, Jeffrey Lewis, Teenage Halloween, Painted Zeros, Mikey Erg, Amy Klein, and Nato Coles. The event begins at 7:00pm on Don Giovanni’s Instagram page.
Jersey City Rapid Maker Response Group is a group of 50+ volunteers who are using 3D printers to produce face shields for local healthcare workers in Jersey City.
Beginning at 7:00pm, artists will be live streaming performances from the safety of their homes on Don Giovanni’s Instagram.
After spending several days 3D-printing face shields independently, Justin Handsman was looking to link up with other like-minded folks who might already be running an organized COVID19-related relief project here in the local Jersey City community, and join their project as a contributor. After cold calling senior management at local health institutions and being unable to find or make contact with other Jersey City-centric maker groups who might be doing similar projects in an organized, scalable way, he decided to start his own.
On April 1st, Justin made a simple post on Reddit calling for volunteers to join the Jersey City Rapid Maker Response Group. And join they did. For more information on the organization, click here.
