(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Riverview Jazz is kicking off another exciting year of programming with it’s annual Winter Soireé at Madame Claude Bis on Monday March 11 from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. The festivities include French appetizers, cocktails, a silent auction, and gypsy jazz by Manouche Bag. The event will also be captured with live painting by Martin Hardy. Tickets are $85 in advance (available online) and $95 at the door. All proceeds will go directly to the funding of the 2019 Jersey City Jazz Festival.
“We are so excited by the growth of this festival and the amazing reception we’ve had in Jersey City”, says Riverview Jazz Executive Director Bryan Beninghove. “This fundraiser was such a blast last year we couldn’t help but do it again. Great band, great food, and helluva lot of fun people - you gotta come!”
The Jersey City Jazz Festival will take place May 31 - June 9, 2019. Formerly known as the Riverview Jazz Festival, the 10-day celebration will begin with an opening party at Exchange Place and culminate in a two-day outdoor free-to-the-public festival on the Newark Pedestrian Plaza near the Grove PATH. Events during Jazz Week will be hosted throughout Jersey City and will include a featured show at White Eagle Hall. The seventh year of the festival is sponsored in part by Bank of America and made possible through partnerships with WBGO, the Historic Downtown SID, the City of Jersey City, Hudson County, and Exchange Place Alliance.
Madame Claude Bis is located at 390 4th Street in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Riverview Jazz, a non-profit organization, produced over 100 shows for free to the community in 2018, hiring hundreds of musicians and reaching all neighborhoods of Jersey City.
