REDACTED TONIGHT WITH LEE CAMP CELEBRATES ONE YEAR ON THE AIR BY GOING INTERNATIONAL

(Washington, DC) -- How many satirical news shows have the President of the World Bank calling them offensive? Not many. Redacted Tonight holds such an honor - and yes, they consider it an honor.

For the last year, Redacted Tonight has taken the satirical news genre and given it some bite. Called “The John Oliver of RT America,” by Salon.com, host Lee Camp sticks up for the disenfranchised and voiceless, forcing his audience to think outside the proverbial box, offering up a different voice in the political comedy culture. Whether it be airing parody ads about McDonalds, shaming GMO Lobbyists, calling out online universities, or interviewing political figures, Redacted Tonight has approached the political comedy sphere with a punk rock spirit. It’s because of this Redacted Tonight has become the fasted growing show on the RT America network, with clips from the show often going viral and in the process collecting millions of views on its Youtube page.

As it celebrates its first year on the air, Redacted Tonight is going international. The weekly show will now be available internationally in over 100 countries and to over 700 million people. Redacted Tonight will air overseas on RT International where viewers can watch the show on Saturdays 0:30am, 6:30am, 23:30pm, and 4:30pm GMT. In the United Kingdom the show will air on RT UK on Saturdays at 0:30am, 6:30am, 23:20pm, 4:20pm and 6:30pm GMT.

Additionally, Redacted Tonight produces web-exclusive content, conducting interviews with big newsmakers and presidential candidates like Jill Stein, former governor Jesse Ventura, comedian Mark Thomas, and Philadelphia police captain Ray Lewis.

Lee Camp – a stand-up comedian, author, and activist – is the host, head writer, and co-creator of Redacted Tonight. Camp has written books that landed on Amazon’s top ten list for political humor and has made various TV appearances on ABC, BBC, MTV, Comedy Central, Showtime and MSNBC. Camp contributed to The Onion, was a staff writer for Huffington Post, and still performs stand-up across the US and releases comedy albums. He also continues to be an activist – appearing at protests whenever possible. The rest of the Redacted Tonight crew includes Abby Feldman, an actress, comedian, and former member of the Upright Citizens Brigade. John F. O’Donnell, a writer featured in The Huffington Post, The New York Times, and appeared on Comedy Central’s Fresh Faces of Comedy. Philip Chang also makes appearances “in the belly of the beast.”

“A guaranteed hit”

– Larry King

"This up-and-coming US star is already developing a reputation for fearless political comedy, with some calling him an heir to the crown of the late, great George Carlin. ...He gets our seal of approval"

Time Out Sydney

"Lee is one of only a handful of comedians keeping my father's torch lit."

– Kelly Carlin (George Carlin’s daughter)

"Like Jon Stewart from the Daily Show but with sharper teeth"

The Scotland Herald

"For those comedy fans still in mourning for Bill Hicks, you'll find plenty to enjoy in the work of DC-born stand-up Lee Camp."

The Guardian
