(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- The Performing Arts School (PAS) at bergenPAC presented its eighth summer musical, West Side Story, to its biggest audience yet. More than 80 talented teenagers from across the region put on three performances Aug. 4-6 on the bergenPAC stage. The production was directed by Alexander Diaz, the PAS’s Creative Director, with music direction by Glenn Gordon and choreography by Rebecca Sonia, an alumnus of the PAS beyondDance program.... (MILLBURN, NJ) --  Paper Mill Playhouse, by special arrangement with Jeffrey Finn, presents the world-premiere production of The Honeymooners, a new musical comedy based on the classic CBS television series.  Ralph Kramden and his buddy Ed Norton are back and still shooting for the moon with a brand-new scheme.  Performances are set to begin Thursday, September 28, 2017, for a limited run through Sunday, October 29, 2017, at Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ.  ... (NEW YORK, NY) -- When providence and sorcery land a treacherous brother and a king on an enchanted island, the exiled Duke Prospero and his daughter Miranda get a second chance to reclaim their rightful status. See what happens when The Drilling Company presents Shakespeare's The Tempest in Bryant Park for three weekends from August 25 to September 9.  The production features new music by Natalie Smith and arrangements by Michael Chorney.  Admission is free. (LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- The New Jersey Repertory Company will introduce people to its new theatre in a big way.  From October 1-8, the company will hold a coming out party at the West End Arts Center (132 West End Avenue) in Long Branch to kick off their capital campaign.  The week long festival, called All About Eve, includes 28 short plays, live music, art and photography exhibits, poetry, and refreshments.... (UNION, NJ) -- Premiere Stages at Kean University will present Foster Mom by Chris Cragin-Day, the winner of the 2017 Premiere Stages Play Festival, September 7-24 in Kean University’s Zella Fry Theatre. A funny, surprising, and optimistic coming-of-age tale for adults, Foster Mom tells the story of Leslie, a woman whose decision to foster a child is complicated by two factors: a skeptical mother and an unexpected romance. The play was selected from over 400 submissions to the Play Festival, an annual competition for unproduced scripts by area playwrights. Foster Mom will be directed by longtime collaborator Kel Haney, and feature actors Stori Ayers, Kate Kearney-Patch, Kurt Uy, and Ariel Woodiwiss....
