The Eagle Theatre Conservatory Keeps Arts Education Strong

originally published: 10/02/2016

(HAMMONTON, NJ) -- This summer, Eagle Theatre officially launched Eagle Theatre Conservatory, an educational program designed to provide theatre intensives for children and adults throughout the calendar year, instructed by elite industry professionals.

Two daily intensives were offered for children ages 5-15 geared to ignite imagination, and cultivate creativity. Enrollment surpassed all previous Eagle Theatre Summer Camps. Following each week, a short, free performance was offered for family members, highlighting what the students have learned.

Co-Artistic Director Ted Wioncek III claims "As the arts decrease in the classroom, they increase at Eagle Theatre. Our Conservatory offers opportunities to build both social and academic skills. Arts education paves the way for creativity, critical thinking, and assists in exercising one's full potential."

In addition to the weekday offerings, Eagle launched a Saturday Teen Camp titled PAGE TO STAGE, a five week program for teens ages 13-17, whereupon students created, wrote, and performed in their own play.

Co-Artistic Director Ed Corsi adds, "I've watched the growth of our educational department over the past five years and this is something truly special. It not only offers the same fun, social experience, but our instructors have truly improved the educational facet.”

The summer was met with such success that Eagle Theatre invited Barrymore Award Winning Actor Jeff Coon to host an ADVANCED AUDITION MASTER CLASS. Due to an overwhelming response to Fall Programming, Eagle Theatre Conservatory has recently announced two more additions, including; PRE-PROFESSIONAL/COLLEGE AUDITION PREPARATION (Ages 11-18), and FUTURE STARS-ACTING FOR THE STAGE (Ages 5-10). Classes will take place Tuesdays November 8, 15, 22, 29, & December 6, from 6:30PM - 8:00PM, at Eagle Theatre.

"Eagle Theatre Conservatory is really second to none. A more professional, nurturing, and affordable learning experience for young performers cannot be found! We absolutely loved this program!", offered Maria Bryan, Mom to camper Megan Bryan. "My daughter learned so much, made a lot of new friends, and couldn't wait to attend every day!"

Eagle Theatre Conservatory is proudly sponsored by ShopRite of Hammonton and Ocean City Home Bank.
