(NEWARK, NJ) -- NJPAC’s Center for Arts Education have announced their new classes for Winter/Spring 2017 offering a wide range of classes in Dance, Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, Band and Film after school and on Saturdays. For the first time this year, Arts Education introduces Musical Theater Writer’s Lab which is for advanced musical theater students who will focus on the process of creating a musical examining the many elements of the form including: musical theater writers, choreography, acting and the creative writing structure. Students will create an original piece of theater - writing the script and score. Also new this semester is NJPAC Filmmakers, a new program in collaboration with Downtown Community TV, a yearlong filmmaking arts training intensive. Through weekly classes, students will learn the fundamentals of filmmaking with an emphasis on creating their own original films. For the advanced hip-hop students, Arts Education introduces Hip Hop 2.0 which is designed for those interested in expanding their creative expression through the main elements of Hip Hop and taking it to a whole new level of dance.

NJPAC’s Center for Arts Education is committed to providing quality performing arts education programs designed to engage, motivate and elevate the next generation of artists and arts supporters. The Arts Education center offers the most diverse programs within the state of New Jersey with top quality instructors. As a leading arts institution, NJPAC is able to leverage relationships within the performing arts community creating unique partnerships with established performers who are often guest speakers and instructors providing students with a unique educational experience and rare opportunities compared to any other performing arts school.

NJPAC’s goal is to have children immerse themselves in the arts, strengthening their skills, cultivating their passion on a weekly basis with qualified master teachers many of which are working New York City performers.
