My Favourite Things releases "Find Your Way Home"

originally published: 08/08/2025

My Favourite Things returns with their fourth album, Find My Way Home — a warm, introspective collection that blends folk ballads, indie pop, soul, and dream pop. Lead by Dorothea Tachler, the Brooklyn-based project creates an organic textured sound structured with unexpected changes. The record comes out August 15, 2025.

Marking a new chapter for the band, the record leans into melody, emotional nuance, and organic instrumentation. While traces of their earlier shoegaze shimmer remain, the sound has grown more spacious and grounded, shaped by real instruments and the quiet pull of feeling over force.

In addition to the band’s longtime members, the album features guest contributions from Berlin-based vocalists, beatboxer Eliot (Munich), and acclaimed NYC musicians Jay Rodriguez (saxophone) and Takuya Nakamura (trumpet). With acoustic textures, Rhodes, cello, and moments of stripped-down intimacy alongside sweeping ensemble parts, Find My Way Home invites listeners into a sonic space that is reflective, open-hearted, and deeply human.

EVENT PREVIEWS

TD

TD James Moody Jazz Festival: Pianist George Cables

In 1976, tenor saxophonist Dexter Gordon made a triumphant return to the United States after spending 14 years living in Copenhagen. He quickly established a working quartet with George Cables on piano, Rufus Reid on bass, and Eddie Gladden on drums. Cables, who will turn 81 on November 14, believes being hired by Gordon was a pivotal point in his career. "Up until that time," he said, "I was spending a lot of time with the electric piano and with other keyboards -- clavinet, synthesizer, and the like. With Dexter, for me, it was rediscovering the piano."
