(BASKING RIDGE, NJ) -- The Lord Stirling Theater Company will present Almost, Maine in the English Barn Theater at the Farmstead Arts Center across two weekends from October 16-25, 2026. Almost, Maine by John Cariani is a charming, heartfelt, and irresistibly whimsical comedy that explores love in all its surprising and transformative forms.
Set in a remote, snow-dusted town beneath the dancing northern lights, the play unfolds through eleven loosely connected vignettes, each capturing ordinary people in extraordinary moments of connection. Relationships begin, end, and change beyond recognition as strangers become friends, friends become lovers, lovers become strangers, and hearts are broken, mended, and opened again. Populated by characters who are humorous, plain-spoken, thoughtful, and sincere, each tale centers on a compelling couple and carries its own touch of magic. Almost, Maine captures the wonder and vulnerability of human connection, reminding us that love can be at once wonderfully ordinary and utterly extraordinary.
The Lord Stirling Theater Company's production of Almost, Maine is directed by Peter Curley of Morristown. Cast members include (in order of appearance): Elliot Zaifman of Hoboken as Pete, Lizzie Terracciano of Morristown as Ginette, Linda Hatcher of Warren as Gayle, Marc LeBlanc of Linden as Lendall and Randy, Rachelle Mandik of West Orange as Glory, Bob Scarpone of Flanders as East and Chad, Kristin Sarboukh of South Bound Brook as Hope, Scott Petritis of Wayne as Daniel and Phil, Ginny Johnston of Maplewood as Suzette and Marci, Lizzy Dreitlein of New Providence as Jenny, Claire Wolfson of Frenchtown as Sandrine, Lydia Case of Westfield as the Waitress, Jonathan Meola of Bridgewater as Steve, Laura Anthony of Kinnelon as Marvalyn, Danielle Levitt of Westfield as Rhonda, and Joanne DeCarolis of Denville as Dana.
