(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- PEAK Performances at Montclair State University welcomes acclaimed French-Algerian ensemble Compagnie Hervé KOUBI to the Alexander Kasser Theater for Sol Invictus, a breathtaking celebration of solidarity, connection and the enduring bonds that unite us, on Thursday, October 15, 2026 at 7:30pm.
Named after the "invincible sun" deity, Sol Invictus upholds love as the guarantor of peace, that despite fracture, communion emerges as humanity's saving grace. A vivid celebration of solidarity and the bonds that unite us, in Sol Invictus the sun will emerge victorious. The score includes a composition by Swedish composer Mikael Karlsson, with excerpts by Steve Reich and digital composer Maxime Bodson.
The company's signature athleticism and striking physicality are on full display, bringing its themes of unity, resilience and human connection vividly to life. Combining contemporary and urban dance movements, capoeira, and martial arts with powerful imagery and inspired choreography, the dancers defy gravity. The New Yorker declares, "The dancers of Compagnie Hervé KOUBI could be mistaken for gods."

PEAK Performances develops, presents and produces a broad range of world-class dance, film, master classes, music, opera and music theater, talks and theater in the Alexander Kasser Theater on the campus of Montclair State University for students, faculty, staff and the public. PEAK Performances is a program of the university's Arts + Cultural Programming Department.

Suzanne Vega will perform a career-spanning show including favorites like “Tom’s Diner”, “Luka”, “Marlene On The Wall”, and many more, plus songs from her latest album, Flying with Angels, which was released in May 2025 to critical acclaim. (MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Outpost in the Burbs will present an extraordinary evening of music featuring singer-songwriter and guitarist Richard Thompson with Zara Phillips on Saturday, November 21, 2026 at the First Congregational Church in Montclair. The special concert will serve as a fundraiser in support of Toni's Kitchen, the Montclair based nonprofit dedicated to combating food insecurity and related challenges in Essex County and beyond. Showtime is 8:00pm.
Fred Tackett and Scott Sharrard are stepping out from the electric swamp boogie of Little Feat and hitting the road with a couple acoustic guitars, along with some great songs and stories. They’ll be pulling material from Little Feat, their own songwriting catalogues, and their own history that include stints with everyone from Bob Dylan to The Gregg Allman Band.
