(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Riverview Jazz will present three free concerts in Jersey City parks this week, bringing a diverse lineup of salsa, Latin jazz, big band, world music, classical and gypsy jazz to outdoor spaces throughout the city.
The series begins Wednesday, September 30, 2026 with Salsa Night, presented by Riverview Jazz as part of the New Jersey Symphony's Jersey City Music & Arts Festival. The week continues Thursday with Swingin' at the Gazebo in Hamilton Park and concludes with Sunday in the Park at Van Vorst Park. The park concerts are part of the Jersey City Artist Studio Tour.
Wednesday's Salsa Night will feature Grammy-winning Latin jazz artists Samuel Torres and Gabriel Chakarji, along with a dance lesson from Salsa Fever On2.
Thursday's Swingin' at the Gazebo on Hamilton Park will feature the Robert Edwards Big Band with vocalist Vanessa Perea, plus a free swing dance class.
Sunday in the Park at Van Vorst Park will transform Jersey City's only arboretum into an afternoon musical walking tour, with four acoustic ensembles performing throughout the park. The lineup includes Con Vivo String Quartet, vibraphonist Chris Dingman, Regional Samaúma performing samba and choro, and David Langlois & the Hot Clubbers performing gypsy jazz.
"It's always great to present a super diverse slate of music to our community. The chance to do it for free and in our beautiful parks is just a little sweet icing on the top," says Riverview Jazz Executive Director and Founder, Bryan Beninghove. "We have some really special performers this week."

Thursday, October 1 from 7:00pm – 9:00pm at Hamilton Park
Sunday, October 4 from 12:00pm - 2:30pm at Van Vorst Park
"It's really important to showcase great music for our community, as some of the best musicians in the world are our neighbors. I'm grateful that NJSO is working with our local organizations to hold community concerts", says Beninghove. "And all music fans in the area should give it up to Exchange Place Alliance, they are huge supporters of the Jersey City Jazz Festival and when we ran a few of the America 250 park concerts this year, they immediately wanted to do more. Riverview Jazz began as a grassroots concert at the Riverview Farmers Market in the Jersey City Heights in 2013. In just a few short years Riverview Jazz was producing or partnering in over 100 free-to-the-public performances a year in Hudson County, including the Jersey City Jazz Festival, the largest outdoor jazz festival in the NYC tri-state area.
