(LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- New Jersey Repertory Company presents Nacho Ate Superman from October 1-25, 2026. This is a comedy by Michelle Kholos Brooks about a sunny, laid-back, progressive beach community that becomes a lot darker as next-door neighbors clash over an incident involving their pets.
Spiderman — an award-winning, well-bred, rabbit, is missing. The prime suspect in the disappearance is Nacho — a shaggy, good-natured, rescue dog who recently dug a hole under the fence that separates the two yards. The animals may be the catalyst, but the fur really flies when the pet owners go to battle.
The cast includes Ezra Barnes (Xander), Anna Khaja (Devorah), Christopher Daftsios (Brad 1), and Kevin Loreque (Brad 2). The production is directed by Sarah Norris.
Performances take place Thursdays at 7:00pm, Friday and Saturdays at 2:00pm & 7:00pm, and Sundays at 2:00pm. Tickets are available for purchase online. The theater is located at 179 Broadway in Long Branch, New Jersey.

New Jersey Repertory Company was founded in 1997 by SuzAnne and Gabor Barabas. Its current central headquarters is the Lumia Theater located on lower Broadway in Long Branch.
Over two decades NJRep has produced 140 plays of which 125 have been world premieres. The theater has the additional distinction of having had many of its plays produced by other theaters around the country totaling over 200 subsequent productions in the U.S. and overseas.
In 2012 and 2018 NJRep was the recipient of a National Theater Company Grant from the American Theater Wing that sponsors the annual Tony Awards for Broadway in recognition of its contribution to the repertoire of the American Stage. Only seven theaters have had this distinction.
Michelle Kholos Brooks is an award-winning playwright with productions staged internationally. Awards and distinctions include the Susan Glaspell Award for H*TLER’S TASTERS and the Riva Shiner Comedy Award for KALAMAZOO. ROOM 1214 was a finalist for The Ashland New Plays Festival. HOSTAGE was a finalist for the Woodward/Newman Drama Award, The Fratti-Newman Political Play Contest, and a Showcase finalist for the National New Play Network. CHAIR received second place in the Firehouse Theatre Festival of New American Plays.
