(HACKENSACK, NJ ) -- Bergen County has been awarded $319,400 in grant funding from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts to support arts and cultural programming that contributes to the vibrancy and quality of life of communities throughout Bergen County.
The grant will support a wide range of cultural and arts-focused programs overseen by the Bergen County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs. These programs provide opportunities for residents of all ages to experience the arts, celebrate creativity, and connect with their communities.
"Arts and culture are an important part of what makes Bergen County such a great place to live," said County Executive James J. Tedesco, III. "This funding will help us continue some of the programs and events that residents look forward to each year, while also supporting local arts organizations doing great work in communities across Bergen County. I want to thank the New Jersey State Council on the Arts for this investment and for recognizing the important role the arts play in bringing people together."

Funding from the State Council on the Arts will be used to support activities and events organized by the Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs, including some of the County's most beloved annual programs.
These include the Bergen County Teen Arts Festival, the Music at the Wortendyke Barn concert series, Art in the Park, and musical entertainment at the annual Bergen County 4-H Fall Harvest Festival.
The funding will also support Bergen County-based nonprofit arts organizations through the Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs Arts Grant Program.
