(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- New York's high-powered Swingtime Big Band returns to Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC) on Saturday, July 18, 2026 to celebrate America250 by showcasing the popular music that kept Americans dancing for decades—from the Lindy and Fox Trot to the Cha Cha to the Twist! Showtime is 8:00pm.
Starting with Benny Goodman’s theme song (Let’s Dance), this entertaining 20-piece ensemble brings to life classic recordings by Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Les Brown, and Ray Anthony, among others. Plus, Swingtime’s engaging singers—Zack Alexander and Bobbie Ruth--salute iconic vocalists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Keely Smith, and Frank Sinatra, and also celebrate the 100th birthdays of entertainment legends Jerry Lewis, Marilyn Monroe and Tony Bennett.
Tickets range from $29-$49 and are available for purchase online. Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC) is located at 30 North Van Brunt Street in Englewood, New Jersey.
Swingtime features a female vocalist — Bobbie Ruth — who recreates the “gal vocal” stylings of such legendary singers as Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Eydie Gormé, Helen O’Connell, Keely Smith, Rosemary Clooney, Bette Midler and Judy Garland, and the band’s male singer — Zack Alexander (winner of Hoboken’s 2016 Sinatra Idol contest!) — emulates such Big Band crooners and swingers as Nat “King” Cole, Bobby Darin, Steve Lawrence, Joe Williams, Dean Martin and, of course, the immortal Frank Sinatra.
Founded in 2003, the 1,367-seat Bergen Performing Arts Center, or bergenPAC, is the area's cultural mecca. Housed in a historic Art Deco-style theater boasting one of the finest acoustic halls in the United States, bergenPAC attracts a stellar roster of world-class entertainment.
The jewel in their crown is The Performing Arts School at bergenPAC – the innovative, educational performing arts initiative that, through programs, classes, outreach, school shows, and main theater presented shows, reach more than 30,000 students and community youth annually. The Performing Arts School provides community youth, age 2 months to 21 years, with unique, "hands-on" training in music, dance and theater by industry professionals.
