
(MONTVILLE, NJ) -- The Barn Theatre presents The Solstice Showcase, its biennial festival of original one-act plays, from June 19-21, 2026. This three-day event showcases new works of up-and-coming playwrights from the NJ/NY area and beyond and other theatrical talent.
This year's lineup includes works by Joanne Rich, Dan McGeehan, Connie Dinkler, F.J. Hartland, Romney Humphrey, Chris Shaw Swanso, and Nancy Temple.
Performances take place Friday, June 19 at 8:00pm; Saturday, June 20 at 8:00pm; and Sunday, June 21 at 2:00pm. Tickets are $20 and available for purchase online. The theater is located at 32 Skyline Drive in Montville, New Jersey.
Sherlock Finds the Future by Joanne Rich. Sherlock Holmes finds out he is not a real person. Directed by Joanne Rich, the cast includes Jenny DeCelles, Sammy Freundlich, Ben MacMillan, Dave McDonald, and Pamela Molinari.
Such Dreams As Stuff Is Made On by Dan McGeehan. Trying to keep up with the “Jones” in a very unique way. Directed by Jeanne Johnston, the cast includes Karen Koronkiewicz, Dawn Morvillo, Lawrence Sanders, and Nicole Semsembach.
Underneath Sister’s House by Connie Dinkler. Wendy is shocked when her sister asks for her help late at night to hide what appears to be a dead body underneath her house. Directed by Elizabeth Fahsbender, the cast includes Rachel Babashak, Claudine Boucher, Dave McDonald, and Cindy Rea.
Bunions And Regret by F.J. Hartland. Two diner waitresses share a beer in the alley and ponder life before they say goodbye. Directed by Nathan S. Hancock, the cast includes Abigail Schwartz and Em Woodhull.
The Weed Store by Romney Humphrey. Susan is returning to the dating scene after a decades-long hiatus and believes weed will be her strategy for losing weight before she starts dating again. Directed by Lionel Ruland, the cast includes Ian Hagen and Amanda Regan.
Defining Moments by Chris Shaw Swanson. For three months, Carrie and Joe have been meeting twice a week for coffee and conversation. Carrie attempts to take their relationship to the next level. Directed by Ed Faver, the cast includes Brendan Deneen and Alicia Harabin.
West Of Amarillo by Nancy Temple. Sometimes when you wander, you find home. Directed by Elizabeth Rodgers, the cast includes Lisa Barnett and Will Coles.
