(BLACKWOOD, NJ) -- The Mainstage Center for the Arts presents High School Musical 2 JR. on June 4-5, 2026 in the Dennis Flyer Memorial Theater. The Wildcats are back for an unforgettable summer at Lava Springs Country Club!
Troy Bolton, Gabriella Montez, and their friends are ready to enjoy the season, but things get complicated when Sharpay Evans hatches a plan to win Troy’s attention. As the gang navigates summer jobs, friendships, and their own ambitions, they learn about teamwork, loyalty, and following their hearts.
Troy struggles to balance work, fun, and his feelings for Gabriella, while the rest of the Wildcats face challenges of their own. Sharpay and her brother Ryan pull out all the stops to disrupt Troy and Gabriella’s summer plans, while Chad, Taylor, and the rest of the gang try to keep everyone on track. With energetic dance numbers like “Fabulous” and “Work This Out,” catchy songs, and moments of humor and heart, High School Musical 2 JR is a high-energy, family-friendly show that celebrates friendship, summer fun, and the thrill of chasing your dreams.
Performances take place Thursday, June 4 at 7:00pm and Friday, June 5 at 7:00pm. Tickets are available for purchase online. The Dennis Flyer Memorial Theater is located at 200 College Drive in Blackwood, New Jersey.
Founded in 1989 by Edward P. Fiscella, Jr., Mainstage began as a summer theater program at Glen Landing Middle School. Its early success led to year-round programming, nonprofit incorporation in 1994, and a rebrand in 1997. Without a dedicated theater space, Mainstage built partnerships across the region to provide arts education and performances.
Today, Mainstage serves more than 30,000 people annually and directly reaches over 1,200 children through classes and workshops. As one of South Jersey’s premier performing arts centers, they are supported by grants, sponsorships, and contributions, including support from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
