originally published: 03/24/2026

(FAIR LAWN, NJ) -- Roundtable Theater Company presents the Tony and Grammy Award-winning musical Jagged Little Pill from April 9-12, 2026 at the George Frey Center for Performing Arts in the Fair Lawn Community Center. Set in modern-day Connecticut, this contemporary musical utilizes the genius of Alanis Morissette's 1995 album of the same name to tackle some of today's most important issues.

The story follows the Healy family, each of them in the midst of life’s toughest challenges: addiction, mental illness, secrets, and self-acceptance. Meanwhile, the ensemble passionately drives the story through the iconic soundtrack of Morissette’s magnum opus. At its core, Jagged Little Pill is unfiltered in its dissection of the best and worst of humanity.

Performances are Thursday and Friday April 9-10 at 7:30pm, Saturday April 11th at 2:00pm & 7:30 pm, and Sunday April 12th at 3:00pm. Tickets are available for purchase online. The George Frey Center for Performing Arts in the Fair Lawn Community Center is located at 10-10 20th Street in Fair Lawn, New Jersey.

The production is directed by Erin Miller, with musical direction by Christopher Vehmas, and choreography by Victoria Marino and Alex Marciniak. The creative team includes Julie Roccanova (Producer), Zach Smith-Michaels (Stage Manager), Hayley Pass and Megan Panzera (Production Assistants), Matthew Allegretta (Set Design), Jeremy Peluso (Sound Design), Colleen Conwell (Lighting), Karen d'Entremont (Props), and Erin Miller and Carolina Hunchuck (Costumes). It features music by Alanis Morissette, lyrics by Morissette and book by Diablo Cody.

Director Erin Miller shares, “This is one of the most talented casts I’ve ever worked with, along with an incredible production team.”

The cast is led by Laura Shamir as Mary Jane Healy, Patrick Comey as Steve Healy, Robert Stevens Jr. as their son Nick Healy, and Sophia Silvera as their adopted daughter Frankie Healy. In her own incredible take on the character of Mary Jane, Shamir portrays a mother who is secretly battling addiction while trying to hold her “perfect” family together and maintain a healthy relationship with her teenage daughter.

Steve, played by the endearing Comey, senses a disconnect with his wife and is scrambling to rebuild their marriage. Meanwhile, Stevens gives a gripping performance as their son who has to make a decision to either save face as the family’s golden boy or make a compromising confession after his classmate Bella (played by Sarah Dennerlein) is sexually assaulted.

At the center of the show is Frankie, whom Silvera beautifully portrays; The passionate and rebellious adopted daughter of the Healy family, both so sure of herself, yet struggling to find where she belongs. Caught in a love triangle between Jo (played by Carleigh Boyle) and Phoenix (played by Saadiq Muhammad), Frankie finds herself lost and confused.

Accompanied by a radiant ensemble (Matt Abad as Danni, Summer Alfonso as Lily, Faith Brolly as Kelsey, Marc Cruz as Lancer, Melissa Giordano as Jill/Angie, Elizabeth Grant as Denise, Lisa Poggi as Courtney, Mike Vriesma as Andrew, and Ethan Abellard, Sophia Bonaguide, Hannah Grossman, Asuka Kimura, Alex Marciniak, Stephanie Neeck, D’Angelo Rodriguez), this cast’s vocal talents and electric choreography bring the edgy and exciting story of Jagged Little Pill to life.

One of the most prominent and important scenes in the production is when the company meets to rally in support of Bella, who has been sexually assaulted. Set to the music and lyrics of Morissette’s “No”, the number swells with haunting vocals and raw emotion. This scene is the epitome of what the show stands for...something bigger than all of us.

Come out and experience a show you won’t just see, but feel.
