The ShowRoom presents "Gone, But Not Forgotten" Film Series

Series honors works by 5 performers lost in 2025

originally published: 01/05/2026

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The ShowRoom presents Gone, But Not Forgotten, a film series honoring the work of five celebrated performers we lost in 2025: Diane Ladd, Gene Hackman, Diane Keaton, Terrence Stamp, and Robert Redford. Spanning drama, comedy, disaster, superhero spectacle, and classic caper, the series offers something for every moviegoer.

January 10-11 | Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore | Diane Ladd gives an Oscar-nominated performance in Martin Scorsese's moving drama about a widowed mother striving for independence and a fresh start. The film blends raw emotion with humor as it captures the challenges of starting over on one's own terms. The cast also features Alfred Lutter, Ellen Burstyn, Harvey Keitel, and Kris Kristofferson. Screenings take place Saturday, January 10th at 7:30pm and Sunday, January 11th at 2:00pm.

January 17-18 | The Poseidon Adventure | Gene Hackman leads survivors through an overturned ocean liner in this tense, genre-defining disaster classic. Relentless pacing and high-stakes peril make it an edge-of-your-seat cinematic experience. The cast also features Carol Lynley, Ernest Borgnine, Red Buttons, and Roddy McDowall. Screenings take place Saturday, January 17th at 7:30pm and Sunday, January 18th at 2:30pm.

January 17-18 | The First Wives ClubDiane Keaton stars in this sharp comedy about friendship, revenge, and second chances after divorce. Buoyed by razor-sharp dialogue and heartfelt moments, the film became a beloved crowd-pleaser. The cast also features Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn, Maggie Smith, and Sarah Jessica Parker. Screenings take place Saturday, January 17th at 7:45pm and Sunday, January 18th at 3:00pm.

January 24 | Superman II | Three Kryptonian criminals led by General Zod team up with Lex Luthor to conquer Earth, forcing a depowered Superman to regain his strength and stop them. Terrence Stamp's unforgettable General Zod helps elevate the film into one of the most memorable entries in the franchise. The cast includes Christopher Reeve, Jack O'Halloran, Margot Kidder, and Sarah Douglas. Screening takes place Saturday, January 24th at 7:30pm.

January 31 | The Sting | Robert Redford and Paul Newman headline this clever, Oscar-winning con — winner of 7 Academy Awards, including Best Picture. A novice con man teams up with an acknowledged master to avenge the murder of a mutual friend by pulling off the ultimate big con and swindling a fortune from a big-time mobster. Stylish twists, a legendary score, and irresistible chemistry make it endlessly rewatchable.  The cast also features Charles Durning, Ray Walston, and Robert Shaw. Screening takes place Saturday, January 31st at 7:30pm.

Tickets for all screenings are $15 and available at showroomcinemas.com. The ShowRoom is located at 707 Cookman Avenue in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

The ShowRoom Cinema opened in Asbury Park, New Jersey, in April, 2009, as a single-screen, 50 seat movie theater, with a goal of bringing provocative and relevant independent movies and engaging special events to the city’s budding downtown. In 2012 the theater evolved into a 3-screen, independent cinema and became the leading entertainment destination in Asbury Park’s eclectic, art-infused downtown shopping district.

Through its eleven year run, The ShowRoom brought an important selection of independent, first-run films — including critically-acclaimed domestic and foreign features, documentaries, festival winners and shorts — to the Jersey Shore. It also hosted a variety of special one night only screenings, live performances and community-driven special events. The theater closed in 2020, but new owners Daria Parr and family brought The ShowRoom back to Asbury Park.

The ShowRoom will continue to deliver the same high quality film selection and impeccable customer service that the theater has become known for while working toward the big picture goal: restoring some of what was lost during the pandemic by inviting our cherished guests to share the energy and fun of going to the movies again.
