(ALLENTOWN, PA) -- Acclaimed singer-songwriter Sean Marshall announces the release of his fourth studio album, Golden — a heartfelt return to the roots that shaped his sound. Set against a backdrop of Americana warmth with East Coast storytelling, Golden marks a homecoming in both spirit and sound.
After years of exploration and experimentation on the road and in the studio, Golden finds Marshall returning to connect with the landscapes, people, and traditions that inspired his beginnings. The album blends folk, blues, and roots-rock textures with intimate lyricism, creating a sound that feels both timeless and freshly rediscovered.
“This record celebrates coming home by telling stories about being away— not just geographically, but emotionally,” says Marshall, who previously was a member of the Asbury Park band Lightning Jar. “I spent years chasing new sounds and new places, but stories matter even more when you can share them with the people and places that gave you your start.”
Recorded at Orchard Studios in Salt Lake City, Golden features collaborations with prolific songwriter and musician Daniel Young and recognized bassist, arranger, composer, and educator Dr. David Baker. With the help of these musicians, Golden showcases rich, organic instrumentation — from fingerpicked guitars and upright bass to warm harmonies and vintage horns.
Highlights include the yearning lead single “Begging for a Change”, the odyssean title track “Golden”, and the reflective closing track “Not the Moon,”which captures the golden light of memory and belonging.
With Golden, Sean Marshall invites listeners to slow down, look back, and rediscover the beauty in familiar places. It’s an album that feels like sunrise on the coastline — grounded, glowing, and waking for more life.
Born and raised outside New York City, singer-songwriter Sean Marshall has since resided at the Jersey Shore, the Midwest, the Mountain West, and now the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania. His experience across diverse landscapes and audiences seeps through his songs with an eclectic vision of America and its people. Four full-length studio albums display this sonic range, with sounds rooted in classic folk structures, enrichedwith blues textures, and laced with country ambiance.
Golden will be available on all streaming platforms January 30, 2026 with limited CD editions available through www.seanmarshall.net.
