(EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Playhouse 22 presents The Cake weekends from November 7-23, 2025. The play by Bekah Brunstetter is a touching and topical comedy/drama in which a vivacious, conservative North Carolina baker named Della faces a crisis of conscience when Jen - whom she loves like a daughter - asks her to bake a cake for Jen's lesbian wedding.
The cast includes Meg Waldowski as "Della"; Rob Capici as "Tim"; Ashley Griffiths as "Jen"; Tara Hines as "Macy"; and Nigel Rogers as the voice of "George".
The show runs November 7-23, 2025 with performances on Friday and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sunday matinees at 2:00pm. Tickets are $24 for adults and $22 for seniors and students, and they must be purchased at Playhouse22.org or over the phone at 732-254-3939. Playhouse 22 is East Brunswick's award-winning and critically-acclaimed non-profit community theater troupe since 1958. Driven and run by all volunteers, Playhouse 22 produces and stages four mainstage and three black-box shows as well as an annual holiday show every season.
