South Street Players presents Ken Ludwig's "A Comedy of Tenors"

originally published: 04/21/2026

(SPRING LAKE, NJ) -- South Street Players presents Ken Ludwig's A Comedy of Tenors across two weekends from May 1-9, 2026. "Laugh after laugh greets one improbable scene after another. Ludwig knows no ridiculous limits." - BroadwayWorld.com

One hotel suite, four tenors, two wives, three girlfriends, and a soccer stadium filled with screaming fans. What could possibly go wrong? It’s 1930s Paris and the stage is set for the concert of the century – as long as producer Henry Saunders can keep Italian superstar Tito Merelli and his hot-blooded wife, Maira, from causing runaway chaos. Prepare for an uproarious ride, full of mistaken identities, bedroom hijinks, and madcap delight.

The production is directed by Bill King. The cast includes Maria Corvaia O'Donnell (Tatiana Racon), Nathan Magno (Carlo), Kristen Jones (Tito), Kathy Janovic (Maria), Eric McDonough (Mimi), Angel Berrios (Max), and Carl Hoffman (Saunders).

Performances take place Friday, May 1 at 8:00pm; Saturday, May 2 at 8:00pm; Sunday, May 3 at 2:00pm; Friday, May 8 at 8:00pm; Saturday, May 9 at 8:00pm.  Tickets are available for purchase online. The theater is located at 4th and Mercer Streets in Spring Lake, New Jersey.

A Comedy of Tenors premiered in a co-production at the Cleveland Playhouse in Cleveland, OH in September 2015 and the McCarter Theatre in Princeton, NJ in October 2015 under the direction of Stephen Wadsworth.
