This gripping Greek tragedy explores duty, justice, and the consequences of unwavering conviction. Experience the Department of Theatre’s version of a masterpiece that has captivated audiences for centuries — powerful, poetic, and profoundly human.
Written by Sophocles and translated by Nicholas Rudall, the production is directed by Rachel Evans.
Performances take place Friday, November 14 at 7:30pm; Saturday, November 15 at 7:30pm; Sunday, November 16 at 2:00pm; Wednesday, November 19 at 7:30pm; Thursday, November 20 at 5:30pm (post-show Q&A); Friday, November 21 at 10:00am (post-show Q&A) & 7:30pm; and Saturday, November 22 at 2:00pm & 7:30pm. The Wilkins Theatre is located at 1000 Morris Avenue in Union, New Jersey on the campus of Kean University.
Tickets range from $11-$16 and are available for purchase online. Antigone is recommended for ages 13 and up.
The mission of Kean Stage, known as TMPO (Theatre Management and Programming Office) as well, is to present a diverse array of professional cultural programs to supplement the intellectual life of the classroom, increase opportunities for community and university interaction, and provide affordable access to the arts for central and northern New Jersey students and residents.
