The lineup features top talent including Mike Sicoli (Levity Live, FunnyBone), Jon Bramnick (Funniest Lawyer in New Jersey), Joey Kola (voted Best TV Comic five years in a row by Time Out NY magazine), and Vinnie Brand (Stress Factory).
Mike Sicoli performs regularly at clubs all over the country including Levity Live, FunnyBone, The Stress Factory, and The Dojo. His comedy album debuted at number one on iTunes and you can watch his comedy special Prom King on YouTube!
Jon Bramnick holds the title "Funniest Lawyer in New Jersey" after winning contests sponsored by the bar association at Rascals Comedy Club. He often volunteers his services as a comedic auctioneer on behalf of non-profit organizations. Jon M. Bramnick is an American Republican Party politician, serving in the New Jersey Senate as State Senator representing the 21st legislative district. He previously served in the New Jersey General Assembly, representing the 21st Legislative District from 2003 to 2022. He also formerly served as the Assembly Republican Leader from January 2012 to January 2022.
As a stand-up comedian for 40 years, Joey Kola has performed for hundreds of thousands of people in the U.S., Canada, and England. His high-energy, spot-on punch lines and fast delivery assault an audience like a comedic freight train. Kola's topical and timeless material is always a hit with audiences. He has worked at countless comedy clubs, colleges, casinos, theaters, cruise ships, and corporate functions. Kola's also proud of the success he's had in raising great amounts of money for the many different charities he currently supports. Kola's TV credits include The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman, The King of Queens, The Martha Stewart Show, Comedy Central Presents Joey Kola, The Rosie O'Donnell Show, Comedy Central's Premium Blend, The Rachael Ray Show, Jimmy Fallon, and CBS's hit show Kevin Can Wait starring Kevin James, where Joey also plays the role of "Larry Anderson," the corn eating Assistant Principal on the show. He has been voted Best TV Comic five years in a row by Time Out NY magazine.
Vinnie Brand is an American comedian, respected businessman, podcaster, lifestyle coach, and a load-bearing pillar of the community. Most familiar as the owner of the world-famous Stress Factory Comedy Club, you may know Brand from his stints on Comedy Central, Last Comic Standing, Sirius XM's Jim & Sam Show, The Bennington Show, Preston & Steve, the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival, or from his hilarious and haunting TED Talk on acceleration.
Tickets start at $30 and are available for purchase online or by calling State Theatre Guest Services at 732-246-SHOW (7469). State Theatre Guest Services, located at 15 Livingston Ave, New Brunswick NJ, is open by phone and email only, Tuesday through Friday from 11:00am to 5:00pm. For in-person purchases, Guest Services is open Tuesday through Friday from 12:00pm to 4:30pm. Additional ticket and transaction fees may apply.
After major renovations, State Theatre New Jersey celebrated its 100th Anniversary in December 2021 in a fully renovated theater. Originally built as a silent film and vaudeville palace, State Theatre's historic significance was honored by PBS by featuring it in its documentary series, Treasures of New Jersey, in the fall of 2018. "Treasures of New Jersey: State Theatre New Jersey" can be streamed online.
Today, State Theatre is the largest performing arts center in Central New Jersey and has welcomed more than six million people through its doors since reopening as a nonprofit performing arts center in 1988. State Theatre New Jersey is a cornerstone of the cultural vitality of Middlesex County and averages a total economic impact on New Brunswick and the surrounding area of more than $18 million a year. The mainstage programs have featured high-caliber artists such as Diana Ross, Tom Jones, Kevin Hart, Ringo Starr, Melissa Etheridge, John Leguizamo, Harry Connick, Jr., Diana Krall, and Crosby, Stills & Nash. Program offerings include Broadway, orchestra, family, dance, comedy, rock/pop, jazz, Performances for Schools, and Sensory-Friendly Performances.
