(RIDGEWOOD, NJ) -- On Thursday, September 11, 2025, retired Fairview Police Chief and 9/11 First Responder Frank DelVecchio will embark on the 15th Annual 9/11 Remembrance Run, a 26-mile journey from the Ridgewood Duck Pond (1200 E. Ridgewood Ave.) to the World Trade Center.

For the first time, DelVecchio will not be running alone. His sons, Christopher and Aaron, and his daughter, Kaylee, will join him, having trained alongside him to complete the run together. Their united effort serves as both a personal milestone for the DelVecchio family and a powerful tribute to the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001 — now 24 years ago.

The team will embark on their run from the Saddle River County Park Wild Duck Pond in Ridgewood at approximately 7:30am.

DelVecchio and his team will be available for media opportunities both before and after the run. You can also follow Frank, Chris, Aaron, and Kaylee on their journey through period updates on Facebook.

Through the Run for Hope Foundation, DelVecchio has transformed his personal journey into a community mission. Since the inaugural run in 2011, the Foundation has raised and donated more than $300,000 to organizations supporting first responders, armed forces members, families, youth programs, pantries, and shelters fighting hunger and homelessness.

“Every year we run to honor the lives lost and the families forever changed on 9/11,” DelVecchio said. “This year is even more meaningful, because my children are running by my side. Together, we’re carrying forward the message of remembrance, resilience, and hope.”

Donations can be made through www.RunForHopeFoundation.org with funds benefiting organizations that support those in need across New Jersey.
