(HOLMDEL, NJ) -- The Holmdel Theatre Company presents a reading of The Elephant in the Room by Helene Montagna on Monday, September 15, 2025 at 7:00pm. The play is an exploration of the unspoken truths we carry.
At the center is Ellie, a seemingly innocent stuffed animal who becomes both a literal presence and a powerful metaphor, the elephant in the room. Through interconnected characters, the play confronts issues like adultery, depression, and body image with wit, honesty, and emotional depth. Ellie’s silent presence speaks volumes in a story where what’s unsaid matters most.
The play reading series is a forum where new works are given their first voice, and establish works are performed just for fun... or sometimes, for possible inclusion as main stage productions in future sessions.
Admission is free, but donations are welcome. Evenings consist of a play reading performance followed by a lively audience discussion. The theater is located at 36 Crawfords Corner Road in Holmdel, New Jersey.
