(NEWARK, NJ) -- New Jersey Institute of Technology's Theatre Arts and Technology Program presents the musical comedy, Curtains, from April 16-18, 2026 in the Jim Wise Theater.

Curtains is a delightful and suspenseful musical comedy, featuring a Golden Age-style score by the legendary songwriting duo John Kander & Fred Ebb, the creative minds behind Cabaret and Chicago.

Set in the brassy, bright, and promising year of 1959, Boston’s Colonial Theatre is playing host to the opening night performance of a new musical. When the leading lady mysteriously dies on stage… the entire cast and crew are suspects. Enter a local detective, who just happens to be a musical theatre fan!

Performances take place Thursday, April 16 at 7:00pm; Friday, April 17 at 7:00pm; and Sunday, April 18 at 3:00pm.  Tickets are available for purchase online. The theater is located at 99 Summit Street in Newark, New Jersey.

Built in 1965, the Jim Wise Theater (a 425 seat house) has a proscenium arch stage that has been used for large cast musicals and original comedies under the direction of Bill Gile. This theatre is also used for various faculty and administrative functions and Student Senate Organization events. There are two shows by the Theatre Arts And Technology Program each fiscal year produced in this space.
