(MULLICA HILL, NJ) -- After more than two decades of creating cherished memories for families across South Jersey, Hill Creek Farms will open its gates one final time on Saturday, September 6, 2025, for its farewell season. As the farm prepares to turn the page to its next chapter, this season will be a return to its roots—a simpler, more traditional experience that celebrates the core farming activities that made Hill Creek a local favorite. While some of the larger attractions and farm fun extras will be scaled back, the heart of the farm remains.
Looking ahead, MC Farms will carry on the spirit of Hill Creek just a few miles up the road, beginning in 2026. In the meantime, we invite you to join us for one final season—starting September 6th—to enjoy the charm, tradition, and community that have defined Hill Creek Farms for over 20 years. This year, it’s all about getting back to basics: less frills, more farm.

Hill Creek Farms has been a cornerstone of South Jersey’s agricultural community for over four generations. Founded by Fred Sorbello’s parents and later expanded by Fred, the farm has been a place for families to enjoy fresh produce, seasonal fun, and a connection to the land. As it enters its final season under the Hill Creek Farms name, the farm is preparing to transition to MC Farms in 2026.
This final season of Hill Creek Farms is an opportunity to return to its origins and focus on the farming experiences that have always been at the heart of Hill Creek’s mission. For many years, the farm has evolved with additional attractions and modern-day frills, but this season, they’re scaling back to the traditional, quieter farming experience. By stepping away from many of the modern offerings, they hope to bring guests closer to the land, the produce, and the simple joys of farm life—just as it was when Hill Creek Farms first opened its gates.
It’s a time to enjoy the essence of the farm—apple picking, hayrides, and family moments in an environment that’s peaceful, straightforward, and true to the land.
For this final season, visitors can still enjoy many of the classic activities that made Hill Creek Farms a beloved destination:
* U-Pick Janigold Apples & Sunflowers: The popular U-Pick apple orchard returns with the Janigold apple variety, along with a beautiful field of sunflowers to pick, perfect for family photos.
* Free Hayrides: Hop on a hayride for a scenic, relaxing tour of the farm or take a peaceful stroll through the orchard to witness the harvest.
* $5 Barrel Rides: These rides are perfect for younger guests, providing an affordable and fun way for kids to enjoy the farm.
* Picnicking & Photo Opportunities: Guests are encouraged to bring their own snacks, enjoy a picnic in the open air, and capture memories with plenty of picturesque spots around the farm.
As they close this chapter for Hill Creek Farms, there are some notable changes that will mark the shift towards a more traditional and simplified experience. Some of the favorite attractions will be closed or unavailable this season as they downsize and focus on the basics:
* The Market: One of the most popular parts of Hill Creek Farms in recent years has been the farm market. However, this year, the market will be closed for the season. There will be no apple cider, cider donuts, or pre-packaged produce available for purchase.
* No Wine Garden, or Eateries: This year, we’ll be removing the wine garden and the eateries to focus on the farm’s core offerings. Visitors are encouraged to pack their own snacks and enjoy the farm's scenic outdoor areas instead.
* No Bounce Houses or Playgrounds: Over the years, Hill Creek Farms has offered several attractions designed to keep kids entertained, including bounce houses and a playground. Unfortunately, these will not be available for the final season.
* No Gem Mining or Duck Races: Other fun, family-friendly activities like gem mining and duck races will also be missing this season.
