This is the County of Bergen’s third annual Independence Day of Pakistan Celebration and Flag Raising Ceremony. The Independence Day of Pakistan is observed each year on August 14th and commemorates the date in 1947 when British rule in Pakistan came to an end, and the country was declared a sovereign state.

Bergen County Executive James J. Tedesco III issued a proclamation recognizing August 14, 2025, as Independence Day of Pakistan. The proclamation was presented to Community Welfare Attache of the Consulate General of Pakistan in New York, Mr. Abdul Latif, who also delivered special remarks.
