First Tee in Hole #1 with Middlesex County Commissioner Charles E. Tomaro
(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ) -- Middlesex County and Indigo Sports, a Troon Company, officially opened the newly renovated West Course at Tamarack on Thursday, June 12, 2025, to the public. The much-anticipated completion of the West Course renovation offers residents a world-class golf course with brand new fairways, improved drainage, new tee boxes, new USGA spec greens with 100% bent grass putting surfaces, bunkers with the most up-to-date liners and sand, new golf carts, and cart paths with added curbs near tee boxes and greens. East and West Courses were strategically designed by renowned golf course designer Mark Mungeam, ASGCA for maximum playability to ensure players of all calibers can enjoy and discover something new in every play.
“With all the upgrades to Tamarack Golf Course over the past few years, our vision to make it a premier golf destination in this region will become a reality,” said Middlesex County Commissioner Director Ronald G. Rios. “By investing in the quality of life of our residents, our entire community benefits, not only from an exciting recreational activity, but we’re also attracting new visitors and revenue to the County.”
“Getting outdoors and enjoying our vast green spaces is the key to a happy and healthy life,” said Middlesex County Commissioner Charles E. Tomaro, Chair of the Infrastructure Committee. “Tamarack Golf Course was created with the residents in mind; it offers exceptional golf experiences at accessible rates, providing real value by simply living here. Whether you’re new to golf or a seasoned pro, Tamarack’s newly upgraded courses will keep you engaged and coming back for more!”
“The transformation of Tamarack Golf Course over the past few years is nothing short of amazing,” said Regional Director of Operations, Troon, Jeff Bebbino. “Coupled with our top-notch customer service, the newly renovated West Course will bring more attention and new players from all over this region to come visit and play on our upgraded courses. The entire team at Troon is excited and proud to be part of this growth.”
“I am very excited about the upgrades made to Tamarack West. The renovated course will be fun for all golfers, with enough strategic options and challenges to captivate the best players and beginners,” said Golf Design Consultant Mark Mungeam. “Tee expansions allow the course to be played at any length from 4,900 to 7,000 yards. Though the corridors are the same as the original course, each hole has been completely rebuilt, and the nines have been reversed. The gently rolling land through woods and streams provides a delightful setting. I firmly believe that Middlesex County residents will enjoy and embrace the “New” West Course.”
