
Brynn Bowyer
(UPPER DARBY TWP, PA) -- At this year's annual Greater Philadelphia Cappie Award Gala, Bordentown Regional High School junior Brynn Bowyer was awarded the 2025 Cappie Award for Outstanding 11th Grade Cappies Critic. The Gala, held Sunday, May 31st at Upper Darby High School, honored high school theatre productions from the 2024-2025 season.
In addition, Brynn also received the 2025 Greater Philadelphia Cappies Spirit Award for Bordentown Regional High School, recognizing her leadership qualities, positive attitude, and spirit of teamwork throughout the rehearsals and performances of Bordentown Regional High School's production of the musical Curtains.
Senior Kayla Stubenazy-Rose performed in the opening number of the Gala, and BRHS principal Mr. Rob Walder represented Bordentown Regional High School as a Cappies awards presenter. Bordentown Regional High School’s winter production of Curtains and the BRHS Theatre program were nominated for six Greater Philadelphia 2025 Cappie Awards.
The 2024-2025 BRHS Cappies Critic Team was nominated for the Outstanding Critic Team Award. This year’s team, under the guidance of Lead Critic Kayla Stubenazy-Rose, included juniors Brynn Bowyer, Rylie Evans and Adam Pollard and sophomore Leah Eisele. The BRHS team has spent the school year attending area productions and serving as representatives for the Cappies program. Their reviews have been selected for publication in area newspapers nine times this year.
Junior Adam Pollard was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Male Role in a Musical for his performance as Frank Cioffi in Curtains. Junior Emmary McLaughlin’s debut performance in a BRHS musical was honored with a nomination for Outstanding Comic Actor in a Female Role in a Musical for her performance as Niki Harris. For his performance as Aaron Fox, Atlas Planas-Borgstrom has received a nomination for Outstanding Vocalist in a Male Role.
Bordentown Regional High School is proud to participate in the Greater Philadelphia Cappies. The Cappies is a national program that honors and celebrates the achievements of high school theatre, which culminates in an annual Gala.
Bordentown Regional High School is home to International Thespian Society Troupe 6803, which has won awards for both its productions and individual students at the New Jersey Theatre Night Awards, the Greater Philadelphia Cappies, the New Jersey State Thespian Festival, and the International Thespian Festival. The musical Curtains was presented at the high school’s performing arts center on February 21st and 22nd of this year.
