
(ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ) -- Magnolia Productions, a Monmouth County based all-female theater company is presenting the Northeast US premiere of James Cougar Canfield's Ladies in Waiting: The Judgement of Henry VIII from May 30-June 6, 2025 at the Navesink Library.

What happens when the infamous king wakes in a strange afterlife to find all six of his former wives waiting for him? Truths are revealed, scores are settled and legacies challenged.
The play has been produced at numerous fringe festivals, where it won awards including Best of Fringe. This is the first time Canfield’s script is being seen in the Northeast US. Magnolia describes the show as “part light show, part rock concert, all fun”. It depicts violence, sexual situations and graphic language. It is intended for mature audiences.
Performances are Fridays and Saturdays May 30, 31, June 6 & 7 at 7:30pm; and Saturday matinees May 31 & June 7 at 2:00pm at The Theater at the Navesink Library (149 Monmouth Avenue) in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey. Tickets are available for purchase online.
This production reunites the cast of 2023’s sell out Steel Magnolias: Samantha Ambler (Hazlet), Andrea Bell Wolff (Holmdel), Christa Collier (Freehold), Rachel Hamilton (Freehold), Jennifer Hyman Zimmerman (Colt’s Neck) and Julia James (Tinton Falls). It also features Bethany Miranda (Middletown) and is directed by Kate Boeckel (Toms River) and artistic director Sharon Coyle (Edison).
Magnolia Productions is a not-for-profit company that strives to present stories by, for and about strong women. They believe everyone has a story worth telling and hearing. This is the final production of their first full season. Their first show, Proof, earned three NJ Association of Community Theater award nominations for Best Lead Actress, Best Featured Actress and Best Director.
