(CARTERET, NJ) -- The URSB Carteret Performing Arts & Events Center is proud to present the 2025 Carteret PAC Central Jersey Marquee Awards this Monday, May 19, 2025 at 7:30pm. This event honors excellence in high school musical theatre and will feature live performances, awards presentations, and a celebration of the outstanding talent across Central Jersey.

Now in its third year, the Marquee Awards continue to grow, with a record 27 high schools participating from Middlesex, Somerset, and Mercer Counties. The program recognizes student achievement in 20 competitive categories, including performance, direction, choreography, technical theatre, and design. Nominees were selected by a panel of professional adjudicators who attended and evaluated productions throughout the region during the 2025 season.

The awards ceremony will offer a Tony Awards-style experience, complete with a red-carpet atmosphere and performances by nominated students and schools. This year’s event will be hosted by Broadway actor Justin Matthew Sargent, whose acclaimed career includes starring roles as “Peter Parker” in Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, “Drew” in Rock of Ages, and as “King George III” in the current national tour of Hamilton. His television credits include appearances on Jesus Christ Superstar: Live (NBC), Law & Order: SVU, Mr. Robot, and Royal Pains.

Tickets are on sale now to the general public for $10 plus applicable fees. Tickets are available for purchase online, by calling (877) 849-2722, or at the Carteret PAC Box Office. (Monday–Friday, 9:30am to 4:00pm).

Join us for this unforgettable evening celebrating the next generation of theatre artists.
