Monmouth University's Center for the Arts presents Candlelight Spring: Tribute to Coldplay

(WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- Monmouth University's Center for the Arts presents Candlelight Spring: Tribute to Coldplay on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 in the Pollak Theatre.  Showtime is 7:00pm.

Candlelight concerts bring the magic of a live, multi-sensory musical experience to awe-inspiring locations like never seen before in Long Branch. This concert series was created with the intention of democratizing access to classical music, and the space and performers are illuminated by thousands of candles to create a truly magical experience. 

The Listeso String Quartet has a tentative program that includes songs such as Clocks, Shiver, Speed of Sound, Trouble, Fix You, Paradise, Yellow, and many more!

Tickets start at $28 and are available for purchase online.  The Pollak Theatre is located on the campus of Monmouth University at 400 Cedar Avenue in West Long Branch, New Jersey.

The Pollak Theatre is a recently renovated 700 seat theatre that presents live music, theatre and dance by national touring artists such as Rosanne Cash, Jason Isbell, L.A. Theatreworks, and Ailey II Dance Company. In addition, the Pollak Theatre also screens HD broadcasts of the MET Opera, National Theatre of London, and The Bolshoi Ballet, along with children’s theater and other programming presented by the Center for the Arts.

Guitarist Dave Stryker Headlines First-Ever Ross Farm Jazz Festival in Basking Ridge

On March 3, 2024, jazz guitarist Sally Shupe of Maplewood, NJ, then a senior at Columbia High School, led a quintet as the Rising Stars opening act at the New Jersey Jazz Society's Jersey Jazz LIVE! concert in Madison. To celebrate Women's History Month, the quintet played three tunes associated with female composers: "Blues for Herb" written for guitarist Herb Ellis by guitarist Emily Remler; "Games" by jazz harpist Dorothy Ashby; and "Just Another Day at the Office" by pianist/educator Monika Herzig.
