Lighthouse International Film Festival presents screenings of 2025 Oscar Nominated Shorts in South Orange, Long Beach Island, and Spring Lake

Lighthouse International Film Festival presents screenings of the Oscar® Nominated Documentary and Live Action Shorts Film in three locations (South Orange, Long Beach Island, and Spring Lake) giving audiences a rare chance to see these incredible works as they were meant to be experienced—on the big screen.

* Cinema Lab- THE VILLAGE AT SOPAC (1 SOPAC Way, South Orange Village, NJ) on February 15th @7:30pm - Documentary Shorts; and February 16th @ 7:30pm - Live Action Shorts

* Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences (120 Long Beach Blvd., Loveladies, NJ) on February 21st @7:30pm -   Live Action Shorts; February 22nd @1:00pm - Animation Shorts; and February 22nd @ 7:30pm - Documentary Shorts

* Spring Lake Theatre (300 Madison Ave., Spring Lake, NJ) Double Feature on Saturday, March 1st with Live Action Films from 2:00pm- 5:00pm and Documentary Films from 7:30pm - 10:00pm.

* Beautiful Men - Directed by Nicolas Keppens, this film delves into themes of identity and societal expectations, presenting a visually striking narrative that challenges conventional norms. 

* In the Shadow of the Cypress - Directed by Hossein Molayemi and Shirin Sohani, this Iranian short portrays a former captain grappling with post-traumatic stress disorder while trying to connect with his daughter in an isolated seaside setting. 

* Magic Candies - Directed by Daisuke Nishio, this enchanting story follows a young boy who discovers candies that allow him to hear the thoughts of others, leading to unexpected insights and adventures. 

* Wander to Wonder - Directed by Nina Gantz, this imaginative piece takes viewers on a journey through fantastical landscapes, exploring themes of curiosity and the unknown. 

* Yuck! - Directed by Loïc Espuche, this humorous short film captures the whimsical adventures of a character navigating a world filled with delightful disgust.

Based on the life and artwork of three Mexican-American artists, Frank Ayala, Ruben Aguilera Sanchez, and Abel Corchado, Los Tres tells the stories of these three artists who find refuge in friendship and art as they compose their artistic vision in the face of denigration and a space and time that deliberately fails to see them. Director Yehuda Sharim, known for films such as Flora (2024) and Letters2Maybe (2021), is back with a very warm and heartfelt documentary, filled with the beautiful artwork of these three artists, along with creative ‘on the fly’ shots that break the mold of the traditional documentary style.
